Unboxing: Zoya Cyber Monday 2014 Mystery Bag & Box

If you caught my post on Cyber Monday, then you know that I was pretty excited about this one-day-only Zoya Mystery Bag & Box, and I ordered one before I even published my blog post that day! This deal was only available on Cyber Monday and even though I don't like to post about things that you can no longer purchase, I wanted to show you the contents so that we have a reference in case Zoya does one again next year. Also, I know that some of you who did NOT order this box were curious about the contents, so here you go!

Zoya Cyber Monday 2014 Mystery Bag & Box
(retail: $15 + free shipping on the Zoya website)

Keep reading for pics...

The Bag:

The "bag" part of the Zoya Mystery Bag & Box contained a Mini Color Lock System, which retails for $20 on the Zoya website. So right off the bat, there's your money's worth + $5, since the total price of the Mystery Bag & Box was $15 + free shipping.

The Box:

The first items in the box were wrapped in Zoya tissue paper:

Also inside the box was a smaller box...

...which contained three even smaller boxes:

Inside the three smaller boxes:

Minis in Willa, Alix, Lael

Zoya minis are exactly half the size of full-size Zoya polishes (0.25 oz each). Zoya minis retail for $5 each on the Zoya site, but I don't believe these three shades are currently available for purchase in mini sizes (click here for the listing of minis currently available). So the retail value of these three polishes is $15 total.

The package also included this:

Adding up everything in this "bag & box," the total retail value come to $59. I definitely think this set was an excellent value for $15 + free shipping, but I know that some of you were disappointed in the select of items here. I have to admit, I was hoping to get maybe one full-size polish in this box, but minis are fine since I never finish full-size bottles of polish anyway. Sure, the colors of the minis aren't too exciting, but you know I love my cremes, so no complaints from me there. I just noticed that the back of the lipstick box says "limited edition," so it's fun to have a limited edition red lippie...with a matte finish to boot. I've always wanted to try Zoya's Color Lock System, so no complaints from me there. And you know I need all the help I can get when it comes to natural nail growth, so I'm happy with the Qtica product as well. And who doesn't love 50% off your next order?

For me personally, this was a great value given that I received products that I will actually use. I would definitely take my chances and order a mystery box from Zoya again next year. How about you?

The products featured in this post were purchased with personal funds. For more information, click here.

  1. I got the same exact stuff you did. I'm a little disappointed in the colors of the minis as I don't generally wear dark polish. However I think these colors will showcase glitter top coats well so that will be fun to play with. I love Zoya's remover and their anchor base coat is a holy grail for me so I don't mind getting the color lock system. The lipstick however is not something I would wear so that is going to be regifted.

  2. I'm with you! I got different polish colors - Willa, Rekha & Anja. My lippier looks a bit darker too, but since I didn't see a name I can't be sure. The coupons alone are fabulous, and I'll definitely use what's in the box. With all the holiday specials they ran, how could anyone be disappointed?

  3. I got this and was so disappointed. I can't really use minis, they are too small for me to hold well, I don't wear lipstick much, and I feel any kind of "growth stimulator" is a gimmick. The colors are blah too. I'm giving the polish to my mom the next time I see her, and maybe my sister will want the lipstick.

I was really expecting something unique from Zoya. Won't be ordering any mysteries from them next year.

    1. I was just thinking that today! That nail growth treatments seem like gimmicks...Of course you're going to think they work, you're nails are constantly growing! I understand some of them lend strength to resist breaks, but actually helping your nails grow? Not so much.

  4. I am making a note now to be sure to get this next year! It has all of the things I want from Zoya including a site recommendation on which polishes to try (too many to choose from).

  5. Great box G! While I did not order/buy anything on black Friday and Cyber Monday, I love reading about everyone else's score. I like knowing what you received. I did order the Mally Mystery Box that you posted about last week and can't wait to receive it!

  6. I ordered the box after i read your post. I received the repair lip balm instead of the matte lipstick and I received Willa, Rekah, and Anja mini polishes. I wish I would've gotten Lael instead but I am very happy about getting the balm instead of the lipstick (since I don't wear it). I love the box and would definitely purchase again. Thanks for posting!

  7. I was happy with mine as well. I LOVE the lipstick shade, and I always wanted to try the Qtica Nail Growth Stimulator. I'm giving the Color Lock System away since I'm happy with my current base and top coat, and I already have a full-size Remove+. The mini shades are nothing special for me, but I have all the Zoyas I want anyway. But it was all an excellent deal.

  10. After seeing reveals, I was ok with it but after I got it, I just found it boring. The lipstick packaging was a huge turn off and so I sold it. Value wise, it's a good deal but a set of mini creams and a base and top coat system screams boring. I hope they try to top this next year.

  11. I didn't get this deal (got the elf 50% off sale and the target beauty box, had to stop shopping for myself...still had gifts to buy! Lol :p) so I'm glad you posted this unboxing because I wanted to know what was in it! I'm glad you're happy with it! It is a nice value for sure :)

  12. I'll be giving out the mini bottles in my sisters stockings this year, so that's a nice little treat. I'll definitely try out the color lock system myself, as well as the lipstick. Not too bad for $15.

  13. Now I wish I had bought it! That is a great deal!

  14. I was absolutely thrilled with my box. I got all the same things you did. I was hoping for more exciting polish colors, but I can always use quality basic cremes. I've already used the Qtica and the Anchor and Armor in the color lock system. The item I was most excited about though is the lipstick. Bright red matte lipstick is something I would have never bought for myself. I tried it on as soon as I got it, and I couldn't believe how amazing it was. I LOVE the texture, the matte-ness, and the color. I took it off right away (I get packages shipped to work, and it seemed a little bold for work wear), but I couldn't get it all off. Just based on what was left on my lips, someone complimented me on my lipstick, which NEVER happens! I will have to work up the courage to wear a lip color this major out in the world, but I am hoping to do that over the holidays, as it is super festive. I was a budding Zoya fan already, but this box really sealed the deal for me. Thanks G. for posting this as soon as it was available so I could get in on this deal!

  15. I already have the color lock system kit that I got for free from a priour promotion and I am not a fan of mini polishes and those colors are just standards that are in my core collection so I am not disappointed that I passed on this sale. It is a great value for what you get if you don't already have any of this though.

  16. I'm with you--the value is incredible, and I'll definitely order another one if Zoya does these next year!

  17. i'm definitely happy with my box, the exact same as yours. the lipstick has great pigmentation and i'd been wanting to try their remover after hearing great things. coupons? a win for me all around.

  18. I got the mystery box/bag and was fairly disappointed. It WAS worth it in terms of value, and I'll get to try some new products (the little baggie with the base/top/prep stuff in it) but I was surprised to find a lipstick and the minis were all terrible colors. The lipstick is a nice color, but it is not matte at all - at least not on my lips. And I get that the minis are probably colors that didn't sell well, so I understand why they threw them in, but man, the colors are sooooo plain and generic and not at all indicative of the amazingness that is Zoya. :( I can certainly appreciate the coupon though!

I'll still probably get the kit again next year if they offer it though...just because I like surprises!

  19. Thank you for sharing, I missed this and was super curious what was in it!! I think that's a nice group of stuff, surprised at anyone being disappointed, considering the cost. Love me some Zoya, especially when they threw in three free full size polishes in my last order! Discontinued's I am sure, which is all the better, nothing I already had and probably wouldn't have chosen for myself. :)

  20. I was super excited with my box. Shoot....just for the coupon codes I feel like the $15 was worth the cost. I've also wanted to try the color lock system. I'm actually debating using my 50% off coupon this weekend since they just announced that the Pixie Dust formula is being discontinued. I love the Pixie Dust polishes.

  21. I am SO upset I didn't take advantage of it! Ugh I was just too slow! Also I just realized all my zoya emails were going to my spam folder too late :(

  22. So what do you guys think of Qtica? I got their lip moisturizer and I love it under lipstick (aside from Bite agave). How is Qtica nail products? I was thinking about buying the nail growth, extended wear, and fast drops but Qtica is not vegan....
