Spotted: NEW Sally Hansen Velvet Texture Nail Color Collection

Wondering which new collections are going to fill the void left by the various Sally Hansen polishes that are being discontinued (Sugar Shimmers, Fuzzy Coats, etc.)? Well here's one of them!

Many thanks to two lovely readers for this one. First up, longtime reader KD recently spotted the new Velvet Texture collection at her local Meijer and was nice enough to share this display pic with us:

(retail: $5.69 each at Meijer)

Keep reading for more pics...

Reader Jazzy (@beautyfoolgrl on Instagram) also spotted this display at her local Harmon this week and shared close-ups and shade names with us:

610 Crushed, 620 Velveteen, 630 Lush, 640 Velour

650 Regal (royal blue on far left), 660 Plush, 670 Lavish, 680 Deluxe

I'm curious how these will compare to all of the other satin finish polishes out there. Are you happy to see these added to the permanent collection, or are you "over" these types of finishes?

Thanks so much, KD and Jazzy, for the great sightings and pics!

  1. I'm interested to see how these compare to the Satin Glam polishes. I liked those, so I hope these are good too.

    1. Me too. Sad to see those go :( but maybe these will be just as nice, however they don't seem to have the shimmer the Satin Glams did, at least from what I can tell here. That said, Luxe may be the neutral I've been looking for as an 'underwear' shade lately. We'll see.

  2. I am just beginning to like finishes like these. I am over matte glitter though. There are a couple of these that I would like to own! I'm excited!

  3. Even though it's a shame the fuzzy coats are going away, this ones look amazing.

  4. I wonder how close these are to the OPI sand finishes?

  5. I'm excited about these. like robin I'm just getting into these types of finishes. The only thing I've noticed is matte finishes tend to chip easier, so I'm hoping this formula will be a good one.

  7. I'm thrilled they are permanent! I'm not over it since to me there wasn't much satin like polishes in drugstores! Matte's yes, but Satin? I'm guessing these are like Satin if not, I'm way over the moon that they are permanent and want to try them! I need Plush, Velour, Lavish, Deluxe, Velvetteen, Lush and Crushed in that order! I really want these also for the fact I'm sad I passed on those Chrome ones I forgot what they are called. After seeing more swatches lately I want those now. But yeah, need these! :D

  9. Saw these today and of course grabbed them. Swatched Deluxe on my thumb and it's a very interesting finish--dries to a satin finish but there's some very very fine-grained texture to it as well. No shimmer, just this very subtle texture.
