Mystery solved (Update: I take that back)

L'Oreal Colour Caresse Lipstick in Rose Taffeta

So you may have noticed that the entire line of L'Oreal Colour Caresse Lipsticks is currently on clearance at Walgreens and other retailers (and they'll probably be on clearance at CVS starting next week). I was really curious why the ENTIRE line would be on clearance since I know these are very popular (you can click here for my review of the shade above--I love these). I just couldn't imagine why L'Oreal would discontinued them.

Well the mystery has been solved! Many thanks to reader @bulldoglovr on Instagram for alerting me to this photo posted by @weloveswatches. @weloveswatches found Colour Caressse Lipsticks in NEW PACKAGING mixed in with the original tubes at Walmart recently. So THAT'S why the originals are on clearance! They're not getting discontinued, they're just getting a new look.

UPDATE: Thanks to several of you here and on social media for alerting me to the fact that the new packaging posted by @weloveswatches HERE is actually the new packaging for the L'Oreal Infallible Le Rouge Lipsticks, NOT the Colour Caresse Lipsticks as I previously indicated above. A special thanks to @cmoorebeauty and @truewrong for confirming this, as they both have seen/own the lipsticks with the new packaging.

So my original relief about the Colour Caresse lipsticks NOT being discontinued remains. The entire line of Colour Caresse Lipsticks is on clearance at most retailers right now, and I'm now back to wondering if they're going to be discontinued, of it they will also be getting a packaging update? I guess we'll have to wait and see...

    1. Oh wait a second! Really? Now I'm totally confused! I thought @weloveswatches said these were mixed in with the Colour Caresse lipsticks, not the Infallibles. So your tubes say Infallibles? Thanks!

  10. We'll probably be getting the new long wearing Infallible liquid lip colors, and Glam Shine Balmy Gloss (Loreal's version of the chubby stick). The UK is getting those first and I'm sure we're right behind them.

  11. I got three of the Color Caresses for $2.50 each at Shopko today. Pretty sure it's only around in the Midwest-- maybe even only in Wisconsin?-- but worth a look if there's one near you!

  13. Found them at Big Lots for $4 in a variety of shades. I did not get any cos I have too many lipsticks. Does seem like this line is being discontinued to me.

  14. I liked the Colour Caresse line. They worked kind of like a more pigmented, slicker balm for me.
