Sinful Colors Summer 2014 Swatches and Comparisons

If you caught my post yesterday about two of the new Summer 2014 collections from Sinful Colors (click here if you missed it), then you know that there were some new shades in those collections that appeared to resemble existing shades. Well today I can set the record straight, thanks to reader Sarah (@sarah082186 on Instagram)! Sarah kindly swatched two of the new Summer 2014 shades next to some other polishes for comparison, and she was nice enough to share pics with us. Take a look!

Sinful Colors Blue Crushin (NEW for Summer 2014)
vs. other Sinful Colors shades and a NOPI shade

I was really wondering if the new shade, Blue Crushin (from the Summer 2014 Chill Out Collection), might be similar to one of my favorite shades from Sinful, Leap Flog (limited edition Summer 2013 Study in Style Collection). But as you can see, not similar at all! If anything, it's closer to Sinful Colors Roaring (a limited edition Walmart-exclusive shade from Fall 2013), but still not identical. Great news for you Sinful collectors out there, right?

Sinful Colors Sail La Vie vs. Sinful Colors Blue La La

Blue La La is also a new shade (in the Summer 2014 Chill Out Collection). As I mentioned in my original post, I was really bummed thinking that this was yet another Sail La Vie/Hip to be Square/Alfresco shade of blue (all three of those Sinful shades are quite similar, if not identical). But no! As you can see, Blue La La is a bit deeper and brighter.

So there you have it! I hope this helps you determine whether Blue La La and Blue Crushin are worth the hunt!

Thanks so very much, Sarah, for taking the time to swatch these for us. Much appreciated!

  1. Is Blue La La close to Essie boxer shorts?

  5. Guess I am going to need Blue La la!!! Hahaha!!! (see what I did there?!) Really compelled to have all blues possible! Anyway I don't expect to get it for .99 (sigh) and if I do pick it up this week at RA it will be a kind of bitter pill because it will be $1.99. I know I shouldn't complain but I am still smarting that Wags put the new stuff away for now.

  6. Your Leap Flog link goes to Study in Style 2012, not 2013; typo? Also, thought i'd add it here: there's a shade i've seen at Walmart and nowhere else: "Ice Blue" a sheer cornflower blue with glass flecks in it. it's beautiful. I <3 Sinful Colors and Nouveau cheap!

  7. My Walgreens, in its infinite wisdom, has all the Sinful Colors in a "dump bin." Even the new ones! I fished out 12 that were new to me, but I didnt' see Blue La La. :(
    Don't be annoying, Walgreens.
