Revlon Fall/Winter Limited Edition The Evening Opulence Collection by Gucci Westman (drugstore version)

NOTE: The Target display for the Evening Opulence Collection is much different from the display that is now popping up in drugstores.  I had a hunch that this was the case but, thanks to two lovely readers, I can officially confirm this for you! Keep reading for all of the details as to how these two displays differ from one another (and also how these two displays compare the UK version of this collection).

Huge thanks to longtime reader Kris Feral for the following photo. Kris found this display at his local Rite Aid and was nice enough to share this pic:

US DRUGSTORE VERSION

Looking at the red arrows above, you can see that there are just two slots on either side of this display for the two limited edition Lip Butters (much more on this in a bit). So yeah, there is ONE SLOT for each shade of Lip Butter in this collection.

Longtime reader Shawna (@ratherbedancing3 on Instagram), shared this photo of the same drugstore display (in this photo you can see the eyeshadow palette and you can also see a sliver of the Lip Butters) which she spotted at her local HEB:

To refresh your memory:

Here's what the Target display looks like.

Here's what the UK display looks like.

My head is kind of spinning here trying to compare ALL THREE of these displays to one another, but I think it can be best summarized accordingly:

The US drugstore version contains the two limited edition Colorburst Lip Butters that are in the UK version (more on those in a minute), as well as three limited edition Colorburst lipglosses. The Target version of this display does NOT contain the limited edition Lip Butters, and the glosses in the Target display are NOT Colorburst glosses and they are NOT new shades (they're Super Lustrous glosses that are already part of the permanent collection).

The UK version also contains the new Colorburst lipglosses shades, but only TWO of the three that are in the US drugstore version. The UK version also contains a completely different eyeshadow palette than the palette that's in both the US drugstore and Target displays.

The nail colors and eyeliners look to be the same in both the US drugstore and Target versions, but I believe that there's an eyeliner in the UK version that's not in the US versions.

Got it? Good! So one last time (since I've done I think four posts about this darned collection already!), let's take a closer look at the contents of the US drugstore version:

 Invite Only, Provocative

Shawna also provided swatches of Invite Only (and a comparison), which I will be showing to you in a separate post, coming very soon.  Shawna said that Provocative goes on pretty much clear.

Elusive, Divine

We've already gone over these nail polishes (dupes and non-dupes) in this post, but a few things I want to confirm for you based on some helpful feedback from readers since my last post:
  • Elusive (above) is different than the existing shade Midnight Sparkle (Elusive contains teal glitters, whereas Midnight Sparkle contains blue glitters). AND, Elusive dries to a matte finish! You can see @thelovelypolish's swatch of Elusive here
  • Divine (above) is a shimmery oxblood red.
  • Rich (below) is a dupe for the limited edition Revlon shade Carbonite, which itself is a dupe for Chanel Graphite
  • Seductive (below) is, as longtime reader Tammie put it, a deep, warm purple jelly. Yep, it's a purple JELLY, folks!

Seductive, Rich

And last but not least, the Colorburst Lipglosses:

I do not know the name of the lavender shade (hopefully one of you does!), but I know that the middle shade (fuchsia) is Adorned, and the vampy shade on the right is Embellished.  Again, these two shades were also in the UK version of this collection, but they are NOT in the Target display. Here's a link to swatches of Adorned.

Whew! I think that about covers it. I tried my best to explain how these three displays differ, and also what they all share in common, but if you have any questions, please leave them below and I'll try to answer them.

Thanks so very much, Shawna and Kris Feral, for the photos and info. I truly appreciate the help in trying to make sense of it all!

  1. I better save up for this collection! I really love those nail polish colors, and I'm excited to see those lip butters in action.

  2. I love this post! As I reach 30 I'm finding myself more into berry colours and not the barbie pink colours! Just an FYI the link for Embellished is actually for Adorned.

    1. Ugh! Thank you, Cynamin--I just corrected that! I'll actually be surprised if that's my ONLY mistake in this post. lol!

  3. Carbonite is not a dupe for Graphite. Same neighborhood but the Chanel is much much more sparkly. Carbonite has a finish like pencil lead. I bought the first hoping it would kill the lemming but no.

    1. Aaah, the one time I neglect to write "dupe-ish"!! I actually called Carbonite "dupe-ish" in my last two or three posts about this, but I was in such a hurry to get this post done, I just figured everyone knew what I meant at this point. So sorry I wasn't more specific, but writing this post fried my brain. lol! Thanks for keeping me on the straight and narrow--and I agree, it's definitely not an exact dupe...just the same ballpark. :)

    2. No worries. :) If I paid more attention I probably would have caught it. I love a drugstore dupe so I was excited when I saw Carbonite. I'm super lucky to have a sister that bought me the Chanel as a surprise birthday gift.

  4. I believe the lavender shade is called Bellini.

  5. G! Heads up to NYC readers. I nabbed Elusive at a place called Cosmetics Market on 37th st between 5th and Madison LAST week. It's retailing here for $1.95 so if anyone in the area (or will be) is interested its a good place to check!

  6. Revlon's website has the new collection on there with the names, etc. (you can't purchase it on the site, i just think it lists the names, pictures and what is new)

Here's a description on their site of the 3 lipglosses with the names:

NEW SHADES from the Evening Opulence Collection!

Available in 3 new fall shades: Embellished, Bejeweled and Adorned.

---The lavender shade is Bejeweled, I'm assuming! hope this helps G :)

  7. Ugh! Now I have to go back to Target for Seductive...I didn't know it was a jelly! I even had it in my hand but put it back because it didn't look unique enough for me to buy, considering I pretty much bought everything else in the collection. The eyeshadow is very pretty, wore it this past weekend...very smokey and sexy.

  8. I picked up the "Divine" polish recently on a trip to the U.S at a Target, it's a good dupe for last season's Chanel Polish called "Malice".

    Cheers, Lisa

  9. I bought Divine at Target. I swatched it, and it is 99.99% identical to my swatch of OPI Germanicure. Germanicure maybe-maybe-maybe shows some faint brushstrokes and Divine doesn't. I am thinking of returning Divine as I already have Germanicure. I also bought Elusive because it looked gorgeous in the bottle, but the swatch is not the same. It's matte, and the black base covers up too much glitter. It is not like polishes like Facets of Fuschia and other polishes with similar smoky, jelly-like bases. This is not a smoke but a black base, and it is not translucent, so you get good coverage and no VNL probably, but the glitter is mostly covered as well. Thinking of returning that one, too.

  11. Oh dear, the one slot for each Lip Butter is almost funny. What are they thinking...

  12. Disappointed to hear that Procative showed up clear on the lips.
I would get it if it had some color.
I'm interested in Invite Only tho.

  13. I'm guessing the northeast hasn't seen this yet, because I've called countless drugstores in NYC/Long Island/New Jersey and none have it yet. );

    1. Whereabouts? I'm in central Jersey, and I think my Wags got it today ... I'll see when I put out of the displays tomorrow.

    2. Hi Chrissy! I was called a Harmons at the side of Jersey that's right beside Manhattan...I don't remember the name of the city. And I just came across the display today - twice - at Rite Aids here in Queens, and both only had nail polishes and lip glosses...what the hell? Has anyone else noticed this or are the products in this collection really selling out that fast? -_-

  14. I was really disappointed with provocative too, until I waore it out in the sunshine. Outside in sunlight it gives you a gorgeous purple shimmer/sheen
