(UPDATED WITH ADDITIONAL TRIOS) New Wet n Wild Tough Girl Collection

NOTE: If you're looking for this collection, please see the interactive sightings map here.

(Updated 8/19/13)

Wet n Wild has released a new collection of Eyeshadow Trios and Textured Nail Colors called Tough Girl. I have received official confirmation from Wet n Wild that this collection is NOT called Beauty Army, despite what it says on the displays.

Wet n Wild Limited Edition Tough Girl Eyeshadow Trios and Textured Nail Colors
(retail: $2.99 - $3.99)

For more information (pics, swatches, etc.) about the Tough Girl Textured Nail Colors, please click here. The rest of this post will focus on the Tough Girl Eyeshadow Trios.

So the first sighting pic we received for this new collection was from reader Kitten, who shared this pic:

Tough Girl Textured Nail Colors: $3.99 each
Tough Girl Eyeshadow Trios: $2.99 each

As you can see, some retailers (like Kmart, where the above products were spotted) are selling these products in two separate counter displays. While other retailers (like Walgreens) may be offering these products in an end-cap display (more on that in a bit).

image credit: Kitten for Nouveau Cheap

The trios (with bonus Megprotein mascara) that you can find at Kmart, etc. include:

34198 Enlisting for Beauty w/ Megaprotein mascara (browns)
34200 I Don't Do Camouflage w/ Megaprotein mascara (blues)
34199 Zero Dark Flirty w/ Mega protein mascara (purples)
34201 Soldiers in Charms w/ Megaprotein mascara (white/black/grey) - see display photo above

But here's where things get interesting....

There's a completely different (end-cap) display now popping up at Walgreens:

Enlisting For Beauty, Zero Dark Thirty, I Don't Do Camouflage at Walgreens

Reader Kayla kindly shared these photos today of the Walgreens Tough Girl Eyeshadow Trio end-cap display at Walgreens.

Soldiers in Charms, Support Our Troops, Spoiled Army Brat at Walgreens

Do you notice anything different here? YEP! There are two additional trios in the Walgreens display, for a total of six trios (the Kmart display at the top of this post only contains four trios).

The additional trios are:
34273 Soldiers in Charms (greens)
34275 Spoiled Army Brat (corals)

Now you might be saying to yourself, "But G., the white/black/gray trio at Kmart is ALSO named Soldiers in Charms. And you'd be correct. Both the green trio at Walgreens and the black/white/gray trio at Kmart are named Soldiers in Charms but the product codes are different:

34273 Soldiers in Charms (greens at Walgreens)
34201 Soldiers in Charms w/ Megaprotein mascara (white/black/grey at Kmart)

And speaking of the white/black/gray trio at Kmart, notice that the white/black/gray trio at Walgreens has the colors in a different order (and a different name):

Left: 34201 Soldiers in Charms (white/black/grey) at Kmart
Right: 34274 Support Our Troops (grey/black/white) at Walgreens

I would never have been able to synthesize this information without the help of reader Angela, who sent me a Facebook message today contain the breakdown of shades at each retailer, along with the product codes. Angela, I want to thank you once again for this--you have no idea how much your info helped with figuring this all out.

And a HUGE thanks to reader Kayla for sending me the pics of the Walgreens display (and thanks again to Kitten for the pics of the Kmart display). With this photographic evidence, it's 100 times easier to make sense of it all.

I'm still a bit confused as I type this, but I hope that if you find the Walgreens display in your area and it looks a lot different than the Kmart display, you now know EXACTLY what the differences are!

If you have any questions about this, please leave a comment below and, once I've recovered from figuring this all out, I'll do my best to answer them!

PS: Once again, for information (pics, swatches, etc.) about the Tough Girl Textured Nail Colors, please click here

    1. Everytime WnW comes out with a LE promo, my area NEVER get them. I scourge the isles of every WnW carrying store in my area. Nada! I guess I'm gonna have to bit the bullet and start ordering online. Although I would rather "see" a product before I buy it (sigh) thanks for the info you provide.

  2. Are these limited edition? The pop art trios never made it to Richmond.

  4. I remember Wet n Wild doing this Beauty Army a while back on Facebook and Twitter. I'm pretty sure they were sending out products to fans but not sure of all the details. You will probably get some more comments from those who may have more details on this!

  5. I'll be on the lookout for the browns and purples. I'm not a big fan of blues. Excited to see new shadows from Wet n Wild!

    1. I'm excited too! Those browns are calling my name!

    2. I thought the browns would be all matte but the bottom shade is shimmery
The Beauty Army Trios do not come with a mascara if you buy them at Walgreens.

  6. So excited, cannot wait to get these, especially Brown and purple one!! I am liking purple for the fall!!

  7. I'm hoping I can get my hands on the brown ones. Am I right in assuming these are limited edition? I don't always have a lot of luck finding LE items.

  8. Those browns look great! I hope I can find these--my CVS hasn't had anything LE all summer, practically. Purples look nice, too.

  9. Oh, great. Here goes another hunt!

  10. Hey G! I found the Beauty Army polish display today. The display calls them textures. At Duane Reade the polishes were $3.99 each, which is a bit steep for the size but I'm assuming the pricing is due to them being textures. There are six shades in the display. There's a purple shimmer called Beauty is a Battlefield and a nude shimmer called Femme Trouper. There's also a dark blue creme (similar to Wharf! Wharf! Wharf!), a grey creme, a mauve/rose creme, and a green / olive shimmer.

  11. Looks interesting! Thanks for sharing with us :) Now I know to keep my eyes open lol

  12. The eyelid shade on the brown trio seems to have a sheen when swatched but it probably won't show up that way on the eye. I didn't get any of the others.

  13. Those browns and purples look nice! I certainly hope I can get my hands on these as I don't usually have a lot of luck finding the WnW LE stuff...

  14. I went to Kmart today for the trios and they had them! They weren't in a display, though. They were randomly placed on a back end-cap in a slot labelled for a different product along with some other random products and clearance items. I didn't see the nail polishes, but I wasn't really looking for them either.

    1. What city and state? I looked for them today at Walgreens and K-Mart but they only had the pop art collection. I'm in Southern California.

    2. Is it close to USF where you saw them?

  15. I found these today in a new display the girl at Walgreens was still setting up. The display said they would be $2.00 for the month of September, and was titled "Beauty Army" "WnW Favorites". The trios weren't in the blister packages with mascaras, they were sold separately. Unfortunately our zip code doesn't always do the national promos and she couldn't do the sale for WnW happening this week for me, said they needed a paper, can't accept the promo from the web site. The display also called them limited edition. I really really hope they get more in by September, so I'll be missing out. Oh, and there was also a green trio as well. They also had the pop art trios and nail polishes. (In San Francisco, CA)

  16. is the middle one of Zero Dark Flirty just a blue, or is it actually a blurple, indigo, or blue violet of some sort?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. It's a very dark blackened blue violet matte as far as I can tell.

  17. Am I the only one that likes the corals? I know they aren't Fall oriented but still have about two months of heat left in AL.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I just bought the coral. It has a shimmery coral/peach shade, a matte berry and a satin finish mauve.Very pretty but not really corals =). The Walgreens (Columbia, MD)I went to today had the end cap but only a broken purple trio and lots of the grey/white trio. The trio I bought (Spoiled Army Brat) someone had left in the regular NeW display.

  18. Is the white matte? Does anyone know at all? Not sure if I'll find these near me but the shades look pretty matte except for maybe the browbone in some and the crease in others.

  19. you're killing me Smalls! arrghh back to the hunt!

  20. I saw the Walgreens end cap yesterday and picked up the purple( Zero Dark Flirty 34271), green (Soldiers in Charm 34273) and brown (Enlisting For Beauty 34270) trios. It was after midnight and I didn't think to take a picture of the display but I believe they did have all six shadows.

I'm just so glad we got this set, we never did get the neutrals sets from earlier in the year.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I like the look of the coral colors too, though I am not sure I will be buying the E/S at all. G. could you ask your contact at WNW and ask them why they changed the order of the pallette and why Kmart has the mascara included and Walgreens didn't? Thanks. :)

  22. I wish wet and wild would open an online store!! Makeup fanatics are going crazy looking for these. My hubby just gave me extra Money for the maybelline fall 2013 collection...now this!! What's a girl to do! Lol

  23. For those of you in the Northeast I just found these last night at my local Wegmans- I seem to have luck with getting the special edition WNW items at this store. They had all four of the eye shadow/mascara sets- I picked up Enlisting for Beauty and Zero Dark Flirty. I just used Enlisting for Beauty- nice variations of brown that are great for doing a day look but you can also amp it up with the dark brown to make a smokey eye. I have a feeling I will be using this trio quite a bit!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I just found these at Kmart today. They were on top of a random beauty aisle....not with other WNW products. I almost totally missed them. For only $2.99 I got all four. I really hope the mascara is usable!

  25. I never see LE Wet N Wild ever in my Walgreens and I'm sick of it lol. I wish they'd think about the little small towns. We love makeup too!

  26. My walgreens hardly has any LE of any brand a lady working there says the manager probably didn't bother ordering them because they take up too much room.

  27. I just bought one of each of these trios tonight at my local Walgreens in CT. It may be that some stores are not putting them out yet, because the display does say they be on sale for $2.00 from Sept 1st till the end of sept. Luckily when I asked about the sale price the manager was nice enough to price modify them for me! I was super excited! It doesn't hurt to ask!!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Randomly came into the Walgreens near my college since I got here early (class starts at 11!) and I found them! YAY! There's no price on them yet but I will ask, LOL! There's only two of each trio so I'm taking a bunch...oops! I wish the sale would be on right now because I'm sure by September these will be all out, oh well, getting these now! Oh! And right across from this display is the new LE Fergie stuff too! Yay! (: I'm in Southern California!

  29. G......My local KMart only had a very small display containing one each of the 4 new trios with mascara combos. I happen to be able to get all 4 which meant the display was empty after that. I have to hit the Walgreens to find the ohers. THANKS FOR THESE UPDATES, very informative and very much appreciated.

  32. Most of the Walgreens in my area in central/eastern CT have the eye shadow end cap with the favorites, but only one has the new nail polishes, and none have the new Fergie products yet.

  33. Anyone in NYC find the trios (not- with mascara) ?

  34. I am in a suburb of Minneapolis and just found all six trios in my Walgreens. They were in a Sidecap Hanging display down the main beauty aisle just before the razors/men's skincare section.. There were only 2 of each color trio. There were other products in the display besides the eyeshadow trios.

I managed to scoop up the blues back home, at a kmart, and passed on the Greys (I own way too many Greys, and it's super similar to the grey trio in the regular collection. I love wnw! Worth the hunt all the time!!
