Wet n Wild adds 40+ new shades to the Megalast Nail Color line (pic heavy)

Before I even get into this post, I want to thank several of you for alerting me to these new additions to the Megalast polish line, and also for all of the photo submissions. I wish I could post all of your pics here but, as you're about to see, there are so many new shades that I just can't post every photo. I'm SO sorry about that!

Wet n Wild has added over 40 new shades to their core line of Megalast nail colors. These new shades are now popping up at Dollar General. If you're lucky enough to live in a state that has Dollar Generals, I'm betting you can find these there NOW, since I've received several reports from readers all over the country.

NEW Wet n Wild Megalast Nail Color shades
(retail: $1.99 each, 0.45 oz)

As far as I know, these are not Dollar General-Exclusives. I'm awaiting confirmation from Wet n Wild about that and will update this post when I have more info.

UPDATE 8/1/13:  I have received official confirmation from Wet n Wild that these ARE Dollar General exclusives.

Reader Tara spotted these new additions at her local Dollar General and took the time to share some very detailed photos of the display, as well as bottle shots of all of the new shades (thanks so much, Tara!).

YES, several of these polishes are the same as existing shades in the Spoiled by Wet n Wild polish line. Club Cabaret = Shuffle the Deck, Field of Greens = Show Me The Money, Limelight = Permission to Proceed, etc. Hopefully this is good news for those of you who don't live near a CVS and haven't been able to see anything from the Spoiled line, which is exclusive to CVS.

Thanks again, Tara, for sharing such detailed pics and info with us. Your contribution is very much appreciated!

  3. Some of the colors look like the ones in the Halloween collection.

  4. I've spotted some of these at my local dollar general and they look just as awesome in person! I think I may pick up amethyst rock, sweet tooth and punch it up tomorrow

  5. Oh my! Lemon Drop! :O Darn it and I have to work the graveyard shift tomorrow night.

  6. I've been waiting for this!! Hopefully they show up in other stores, don't have a Dollar General here.

  7. Sea change looks like spoiled parking meteor expired, and ive seen the pink glitter you say could be a dupe for pinky glitter in the spoiled line also. I wish they would stop doing this and give us actual new shades. They just keep putting the same stuff in different bottles. I never bought any of the fergie polishes because i felt they were a rip off ( same stuff more money) same with the makeup. Different name different packaging they call it new. I hope they improved the brushes and they don't look like they were chewed on by evil polish trolls, they can atleast do that much since they keep on giving us the same stuff

    1. I TOTALLY forgot about The Parking Meter Expired. Good call! Now I really have to see this in person to see if it's a dupe.

PS: I have generally found that the Megalast brushes are much better than the Spoiled brushes.

    2. Yeah I was gonna say the same - Sea Change = Parking Meteor... And I wish I had these instead of the spoiled ones with the crappy brushes! So tired of them trying to trick us with the same polish in different bottles/different names. It's getting really ridiculous now with Spoiled, Fergie, and now these too!

    3. I'm glad if they're making these shades more available though, I have no CVS near me and I refuse to shop there anyways for personal reasons. I'm glad I can finally have better access to these shades, even if it's this way.

  8. Btw, I'd still grab some since spoiled and fergie dont go on sale often and I can snag these for 99cents at Walgreens. And the brushes are a bit better then the spoiled line :-)

    1. Good point--these DO go on sale much more frequently than Spoiled and Fergie.

  9. Wow! This is the best news!!! I love Wet N Wild Megalast. I have all of their colors/lines already out. A few days ago when I was in Rite Aid, as I checked out the Wet N Wild endcap to see if there were any new products, sadly didn't find any but said a wish that would change soon. :) Wishes do come true! I am so delighted with this!!!
Thanks G for the post and sooo looking forward to when they hit my area. I never could acquire their 'Pick Your Poison' line. It never came here and I refuse to pay $10+ a bottle on an auction site. Some of what I saw in the new colors, maybe they (PYP) are there.
Have a great rest of the week!!! Happy polishing everyone!!!

  10. I nearly fainted when I saw them in Dollar General! I only bought 3 so far (Club Cabaret, Sweet Tooth, Telescopic Vision). But I told myself, I'm allowed a couple every week...I can afford that!

  11. I NEED to try to find these!!! Love this, Thank you!

  12. aww nuts, there arent any colors that stand out to me enough to drive the 15 minutes.... :/ plus i haven't had great luck with the line, the brushes are HORRIBLY CHEAP, and for some reason the polish bubbles up (without any shaking what so ever). I pass...

  13. Haven't spotted them yet, but will be haunting all stores and Dollar Generals this weekend! I'm gonna need ONE OF EVERYTHING!! Thank god they are cheap cheap cheap!

  14. I saw these at Dollar General on Monday. I was just getting ready to check out and I figured I'd go back and check out the nail polish to see if there was anything new and when I saw all of these I about died. I didn't have much time to look, so I only bought one, Black Light Party. I haven't tried it yet, but it looks like a jellyish with little flakies in it.

  15. I want them all, they are some beautifil colors.I like wet-n-wild nail colors.

  16. This is my favorite nail polish from the drugstores!! I love the colors, the brush and the long lasting power. I'm so excited to get more new colors. :)

  17. <3 <3 <3 love the brush and formula of these. Sooo excited. Wish I had a Dollar General where I live, never heard of it

  18. I want these too bad I cant wear np to work

  19. I SOOOOO wish we had a dollar general

  20. I got a few of these polishes. I also got Lava Brew (my bottle shows Lava Brew not Love Brew). Not sure if it is a mislabel?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Ooh boy. I bought 7 unexpected (and totally unnecessary) polishes at the drugstore last night. They had a couple of the new shades and were BOGO1/2 at Rite Aid so I grabbed 2. There is a Dollar General on my way home. Heaven help me,I need an intervention.

  22. I'm interested in the shade "Retro Mint". In the above pic it looks very similar to the existing Megalast shade "I Need a Refresh-Mint", so I'm curious to how they compare. I know you said some are dupes for the Spoiled shades, but it looks too blue-based to be a match for the Spoiled "Toad-ally Amazing". I love vintage/Tiffany blue shades, so if the pic above is color accurate, I'm wondering if I'll have a new favorite. (Current happens to be "I Need a Refresh-Mint".

    1. I compared them in stores. Retro Mint is much more green than I Need a Refresh-Mint, and it also has a bit of shimmer :)

  23. so great to see these since CVS is so far away! I definately will be going to Dollar General soon. I spotted 2 or 3 that really peaked my interest! Yippee!

  24. Oh hell no.....
I think I hear my debit card crying.

  25. I love the Megalast formula. I find it superior to the Spoiled formula, so I hope that the duplicate colors will be just as good as the other Megalasts!

  26. Thank you for the heads up about some of these being in the Spoiled line as well. I saw these in Dollar General the other day, too, and started making mental notes about which ones I wanted. After reading this, I'm pretty sure I already have many if not most of them. I have a bad habit of buying the same things over and over again, not realizing I already have essentially the same things in different bottles with different labels.

  27. OMG, these are so luscious! The blues and the lighter pinks are calling me. Wait, who am I kidding? They are all calling me. And I wonder why I have no money the DAY AFTER my husband gets paid.

I'll go without eating, but I must have Sea-Change. Multichromes are my weakness.

Thanks sooo much for all the pics and names, Tara and G!

  28. finally! I will keep an out out in my area for the new colors! I kept seeing them pop up online. People kept saying they got them at Ross...but we don't have those stores on the East coast :(

    ReplyDelete
  29. Just got 3 more! Sea Change, Limelight, and Split Pea Soup. I was in a green mood! I love Split Pea Soup even more now that I have it! Sea Change is amazing. It looked dark real, but now in very low light, it looks almost entirely purple. So cool!

  30. I was shocked to see these in my local DG, I leave in a small country town so we rarely get new products as their coming out, usually takes nearly a month! But I'm definitely get a few of these babies~

  31. So I just went to scope out "Retro Mint". From the reader submitted pics above the one where it is shown on the shelf is more color accurate as opposed to the one in the collage, where it seems more blue. It is an exact copy of the Spoiled "Toad-ally Amazing", fine silver shimmer and all. Darn. I was hoping it would be a variation on the "I Need a Refresh-Mint" shade. : / I noticed something funny about myself though- I passed on buying Spoiled's Toad-ally Amazing as I already owned Sinful Colors "Mint Apple" (same basic shade except the shimmer in MA is gold instead of silver), and because I didn't like the name. However, I bought Retro Mint anyway because of the name. Only find the color so-so, prob won't wear it often, but just wanted it for the name. I am a slave to marketing!

  32. Sea Change and Pixie Trail actually looks like polishes I have from two Wet N Wild Fantasy Makers kits I bought at my grocery store a couple Halloweens ago. Saw A Comet and Field of Greens also look extremely similar to some polishes I have from Sinful Colors. But I was really excited to see the full display at my Dollar General since they're not at my Walgreens yet!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I could not be happier about this! I love the brushes on these polishes! I know I will go and pick some up! I love thicker brushes!

  34. Is there a gold at all for this line?? I been eyeing for a gold nail polish but it seems so so odd that they do not have a gold that is not glittery. Am I the only one who unable to spot it?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. If you're looking for a gold polish, check out the Rimmel Metal Rush polishes... There aren't names on the bottles, but the number is 3107. It's a pretty gold shade with minimal, if any, shimmer to it. Also, if you get it at Kmart, they have a $1 off coupon on the display (at least, mine did), and they're only $1.99 to start with. Hope that helps!! :)

  35. This is so exciting! I love these polishes. The brush is great! I live in TX so we do have some Dollar Generals, fortunately. I'll go have a peek this Easter weekend. Soooo awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Since I have almost the entire Spoiled line, I'll have to wait until someone posts a comparison so I don't buy duplicates (as I'm prone to do lol). Were there new cremes? I don't think there is a single Spoiled creme so those would be totally new. Can't wait to see them IRL.

  37. I actually work at a Dollar General and I finally found the box hiding in the back yesterday that was shipped to us a few weeks ago that we'd been meaning to put out. I put them all out yesterday all the while admiring the shades. Then today the rep for the line (or maybe all the makeup/beauty, I suppose) came in and I mentioned how many shades I loved and he said 'Make a list and I'll give you some, I have tons sitting in a box at my office, what am I gonna do with them?' And I about died inside. Freeeeee polishes. So right now I'm narrowing it down. He said not to be shy about asking so I'm gonna get about 12 to 15. I don't wanna go overboard but,,,there's so many great shades! I'm pretty new to nail polishes, I don't know all this dupe stuff you all talk of, so they're all new and awesome to me. I'm gonna have fun playing with these.

    1. I think a lot of them are dupes from the spoiled collection, but i like these bottles better. I bought a bunch of them at DG. Maybe I should have waited when they go to other stores or get Buy one get half off. But oh well I couldn't resist!

  41. I keep stalking my local drug stores for these(no dollar generals, sadly). I have found I LOVE the megalast formula, especially for the price, and I had avoided so many of the Spoiled polishes after hearing about the wonky brushes, so I'll be happy when I can get these :)

    ReplyDelete
  42. I'm eyeing all the glitter nail polishes.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Black Light Party looks to be a dupe of Spoiled Checkin into Rehab, and Pinky Sweet looks like a dupe for Tattle Tale. I honestly don't any new colors here, but still I'm glad that these will be more widely available now, since I do prefer the Megalast brushes. Hopefully they will land at Rite Aid since I live very close to one!

    ReplyDelete
  44. It looks to me like I Saw a Comet is a dupe for Wet n Wild FastDry in Happy Holidaze AND Wet n Wild Coloricon in Cost is No Issue, at least comparing the bottles I have at home. I've also got to express my irritation when they repackage polishes in the same brand and my irritation at myself that I keep buying them!

  45. I was at my local Walgreens(San Antonio TX) and there is a Megalast In Too Deep (34287) that is a duplicate for Club Cabaret. Also found Up in the Air (Megalast found at Walgreen's) is exactly the same as Telescope Vision. I went crazy when I swatched Violet Attack, Dark Side of the Blues and Root of All Evil (they look exactly the same all WNW Megalast)
