Tag: What's in my fridge?

It's  been forever since I did a tag, and since I know that the What's In My Fridge? tag is quite popular on YouTube, I thought that it would be a fun thing to do! I snapped a photo today without any prepping whatsoever--part of the fun of this tag is just to open the fridge door, not think about it, and take the photo. So here you go!

Keep reading to see what's in my fridge at this very moment...

(click to super-size)

The top shelf (not pictured) is a really small shelf and only contains a few tubs of Greek yogurt, butter and cottage cheese. In other words, you're not missing anything by not seeing it.

As you can see, we like sauces in this house and we often joke about how the fridge is just "a giant storage place for sauces" (seriously, it kind of is for us!). Mr. G and I have our favorite Mexican hot sauces (his is Valentina while mine is Tamazula). We also have a huge bottle of Tapatio, a few Louisiana hot sauces (Crystal, etc.). And then we've also get Frank's Red Hot Sauce, Tabasco (the green jalapeno version, which we LOVE) and a few others. I also spy a really old bottle of Stella Artois in the back, as well as some rice vinegar, balsamic vinegar and some pickles.

We also have Korean chili paste (the red tub) and Japanese miso paste (brown tub on the right). And oddly enough, two bottles of sesame oil (one on the top shelf, another on the bottom). On the bottom shelf, we've got a few Steaz Teas (love those), low-sodium soy sauce, regular vinegar, apple cider vinegar, that mysterious "second bottle" of sesame oil, a jar of jalapenos, a half-empty jar of Prego Heart Smart pasta sauce, a jar of kimchee, and a bag of tangerines.

Moving back up to the top, we've got some Oroweat 100% Whole Wheat bread, some preservative-free corn tortillas (did you know that parabens are a common ingredient in tortillas that contain preservatives? Check your labels!) and an Odwalla juice in the flavor Mo' Beta (my favorite flavor ever). Oh, and I have a bottle of Bolthouse Farms Thousand Island Yogurt Dressing, which is my new obsession. I like to make my own dressings, but sometimes I crave good ol' fashioned Thousand Island, and this one is quite healthy compared to others at the grocery store (it's refrigerated and can be found in the produce department in case you look for it). Lastly, smashed between the hot sauces is a bag of fresh mint leaves.

The produce bins are pretty boring, which is also why I didn't photograph them. But if you're curious, here's what's inside of them as of today: celery, carrots, green onions, ginger root, grapefruit, cucumbers, red leaf lettuce.

I also didn't photograph inside the little cheese keeper drawer thingy, but if you want to know, we've got some grated extra sharp cheddar, some provolone and some cotija cheese currently in there, as well as two leftover Tofurkey Italian "sausages."

As for the door, we've got Almond Breeze milk, Mocha Mix creamer, light mayo, about six kinds of mustard, ketchup, Sriracha sauce and a huge jar of green olives in the door at the moment.

So...that's what's currently in my fridge. If you have a blog or YouTube channel, consider yourself tagged! And if you don't have a blog but want to share what's in YOUR fridge at this very moment, please spill the beans in the comments!

  8. Hah! I had to show this to my husband, he says the main use for our fridge is condiments (namely, hot sauces)!

  9. You know, you don't have to refrigerate vinegar or oils, just keep them in the dark.

I just love the Bolthouse Farms dressings. The ranch is so wonderful, none of the yucky aftertaste of the traditional dressing makers. The fact it's low in calories is just the icing, so to speak. ;)

Have you ever tried making your own corn tortillas? They are super easy, and so much better than store bought. :)

  11. Haha how fun! Will need to do this tag on my blog :) And you gave me so many ideas for new sauces! I eat pretty clean, so a lot of store-bought condiments are out (ketchup, mayo etc). But will have to take a closer looks at some of those hot sauces.
