Spotted: New Pretty Woman Nail Pearls

The latest nail art trend to hit the drugstore (Caviar Nails swept the nail art world in a big way in 2012), Pretty Woman brings us the first drugstore kit to help achieve this look at home. Take a peek:

Pretty Woman Nail Pearls
(retail: $7.99 each at Rite Aid, one 0.46 oz bottle of pearls per kit)

"Paint, Pour, Wait, Enjoy"

The Pretty Woman Nail Pearls kit includes a bottle of "pearls" and a funnel (I actually bought the kit above, so I'll be sure to do a tutorial/review). You use your own nail polish as the base (any brand/shade you'd like). Per the box, the removal directions are as follows: "Soak in Pretty Woman nail remover or acetone for several minutes."

Take a closer look at all three shade varieties, after the jump...

I didn't catch the names of the other two kits in this collection, but here are pics:

This one is a mixture of lighter and darker shades of pink.

Per the Pretty Woman Facebook page, they're also coming out with a new Velvet Manicure kit although, at the time of this post, I do not know what that kit entails (as soon as I spot it, I'll share!).

As far as I know, the Pretty Woman line is exclusive to Rite Aid in the US, although they do have an online store where you will be able to purchase these kits (and more). As of the time of this post, there is a section in the online store for the Nail Pearls, but no product is currently available. They also have a section for "3D Droplet Nails" which sounds fascinating but, again, no details are on the site yet. Per the packaging on the Nail Pearls kit, Pretty Woman has Canadian and Australian distributors, although I'm not sure where you can find Pretty Woman products in those countries. If you live in Canada or Australia, please let us know? Thanks!

Have you tried this type of manicure already? If so, what did you think of it? If not, are you intrigued? Do you think you'll give this kit a shot?

    1. Um.... caviar nails are nothing like OPIs matte glitters... caviar u gotta paint nail polish and put little beads on. OPI is just another gritty matte glitter nail polish.
But I get that they're textured but that's about it tho..

  2. Any 3D elements on my manicures lead me to compulsively pick at them until they fall off, which means any dimensional details on my manicures have to be sealed well with topcoat if I want them to last until I take the manicure off. Luckily, I've always thought that caviar nails look weird, so I've never had the urge to try them.

  3. I bought the tiny bottles of tiny beads at Dollar Tree this past summer and it produced the same type of effect, although those bottles were just one color and much smaller.

  4. Eh not into the 3d fad. I love a smooth glassy finish to my nails and anything that sticks up, is lumpy, bumpy, gritty, or snags WILL be picked at until the mani is ruined. I learned that with rhinestones and tiny beads, so I know this is not for me. I don't like the look. Hopefully it is easier to remove than glitter.

    1. Same here. Not that i'd pick at it, but anything 3d is bound to snag on hair, clothing etc. And after that the mani is pointless, annoying and just plain impratical.

  5. I've been using white glue as my basecoat when I do glitter polishes. That way I can just peel them off instead of soaking/foiling. I bet you could use white glue alone w/o polish with these or any beads for the same effect although polish would fill the gaps of naked nail.

    2. You mean white glue as in Elmer's glue??? Any lasting effects to your nails with this technique? #intrigued

    3. It works great. It hasn't hurt my nails at all. If you don't want to peel, you can still use remover, but glitter comes right off without fighting it.

  6. I like the THEORY of caviar nails but not in practice. Even though the pearls are tiny, nails are still small enough that a full layer looks weirdly puffy and makes the nail shape/size too different next to plain nails.

I DO like using the pearls for designs (like evenly spaced studs, or a line), though it's more time consuming.

  8. I saw a similar kit like this the other day except it had a tray instead of a bottle to dip your nails into, didn't get one because all the colors were ugly (black and gold, white and gold, and a multi that wasn't nice looking). The bottle sounds like it could be messy.

  9. I'll get these. I like the way it looks.

  10. I wonder if the velvet nails kit will have flocking powder? A few of the nail blogs I follow have done a look using flocking powder adhered to wet polish, and it does kind of look like velvet.

  11. these sound pretty but when its on, its not. At least to me. I much prefer the furr effect on my nails. MUA has a great kit for that! Totally cute!

  12. I saw these at Walgreens today too. There was no price posted and I was sleepy so I didn't ask. XD

  13. Oh, why does Rite Aid have to be so far from me? I wish they had these at CVS or Walgreens!

  14. Ugh, I bought a big set of microbeads at Michaels cause I was dying to try it and my nails didn't even get through one day without annoying me and peeling off. Plus it looks weird and you can't add topcoat or the beads lose their color. Not very practical....
