Spotted: New CeraVe SPF30 Sunscreens for Face and Body

Did you know that CeraVe gave their packaging a makeover? And not only that--they also added some new products to the range, including these two new sunscreens, which I spotted at Rite Aid:

New CeraVe Sunscreen Face Lotion SPF30 and Suncreen Body Lotion SPF30
(retail: $14.99 and $16.99 at Rite Aid)

This new formula from CeraVe boasts something called InvisibleZinc and claims to be "light-weight, and oil-free" with a "clear finish." That's good news for those of us who find products containing zinc oxide to feel heavy on the skin (and also leave a strong white cast to the skin).

Keep reading for more details...

From the box:

Are you a CeraVe fan? Are you looking forward to trying these new sunscreens? The face lotion seems like it could double as moisturizer since it contains CerVe's signature blend of ceramides, niacinamide and hyaluronic acid.

  1. whoa this is great! Cerave cream that comes in the tub is my holy grail skin moisturizer! I used to use Cetaphil but then a new dermatologist recommended me to Cerave. I've never tried their daily AM moisturizers with SPF though and would love to try it now!

  2. I've been interested in CeraVe for while, but always but off trying it. This will probably be the push to go for it!

  3. Oh darn! I JUST bought a new bottle of the old CeraVe AM facial sunscreen and I SO would have tried the new one. Oh well. In a couple of months I can purchase the new InvisibleZinc one if I feel confident about the reviews that come out about it. Hopefully this sunscreen has a higher PPD than the old one, which was not all that great, but was otherwise was a pretty close to ideal product for me.

Thank you so much for posting - I am really excited about this! I LOVE LOVE LOVE CeraVe and use the entire line. HG for me! :)

    3. Thanks for the ingredients! Google wouldn't let me go to cerave.com. Says it has malware on it :(

After looking up some of those ingredients, that stuff is not going on my skin.

    4. I got the same info! Something about malware on the website! That's really weird... Thanks for the ingredients - they sound good, esp. the lack of parabens.

  4. I am ecstatic to see this post!! Their cream and cleanser are HG for me. I'm hoping that this sunscreen proves to be hydrating.

  5. I got a sample of this almost 2 years ago at a Women's Convention. I thought it was a bit heavy but now love to use it when I go running. It's too heavy for regular use, for me. But I like how it stays put when sweaty. LOL

  7. Interesting! I use the foaming cleanser and the cream when my skin is extra dry. I'd love to try this when I run out of my Olay.

  8. They have a new hand cream too - it was the allure giveaway thing 2 days ago. It isn't out in stores yet, I don't think, but I am all over it when it comes out. It's called theraputic hand cream, just like the one that cetaphil came out with and then made impossible to find. >:(

Thanks for the heads up on this - I will keep an eye out for it!

  10. They reformulated this?! EEK. I have gone through like 8 bottles of this stuff, it's my HG moisturizer! I really hope it's not a reformulation fail like I've become so used to with different brands :(

Looking at the ingredients someone posted above compared to the original, this seems to have much more zinc oxide, which is good I suppose.. but Niacinimide is much further down on the list, it used to be the second ingredient and I heard it was at 4%, the amount known to help with discolorations. Or maybe this isn't replacing the SPF30 AM moisturizer after all and the AM/PM creams will still be available? This is marketed more as a sunscreen from the packaging while the AM moisturizer is marketed more as a daily moisturizer... hmm.

    1. They don't seem to have reformulated the AM/PM products, I just picked up the new facial sunscreen pictured above, but CeraVe AM was still on the shelf next to it (its box has been slightly redesigned to match these new products it looks like- the AM box said "new look!") but I highly doubt they'd bother repackaging the AM formulation if they weren't keeping it in the regular product line. It looks like the sunscreens are just expanding the CeraVe line.

  11. Actually now that I've read about the "clear finish" and considering the way higher level of Zinc Oxide, this must NOT be a replacement for the daily AM moisturizer but rather a new product.... hope so! This sounds like it would be too drying for me so I hope it's a new product and not a reformulation of my beloved Cerave AM. I will stock up just in case!

  12. Too bad about all those chemical sunscreens in there, I was excited about a products from them finally being paraben-free, but the chemical sunscreens are a turn off for me. I wonder if they have more sunscreen products coming because on their Facebook they told me "All lotions in the line are physical-only sunscreens. The sprays contain chemical sunscreens." So now I am confused.

  13. There is also a relatively new product from Cetaphil that contains Ceramides, so now there's another option besides just CeraVe for those. It is called Cetaphil Restoraderm, and is paraben free and also free of mineral oil. I got it the other day and am really liking it so far, my skin has been so dry this winder and it is really helping. It has no SPF, but my Jane Iredale BB Cream has broad spectrum SPF, so I am all set with that.

  14. Just bought this, it's not replacing the moisturizer it's to be used on top of moisturizer it's a true sunblock. Great for after laser procedures. Forumulation is amazing dries to a beautiful soft Matt that makes me want to keep touching ,y face because it feels so soft. Really a completely different feeling then usual sunblock. Got it for my trip to the Caribbean after having fraxel
