Urban Decay Clearance Eyeshadows now $6 (were $9)

Heads up, Urban Decay fans! Big thanks to reader Jessica for letting us know that the Vintage Eyeshadows and Matte Eyeshadows that were already on clearance for $9 each (down from $17) are now $6 each!

And as reader NA mentioned, if you already placed (and received) an Urban Decay clearance order from when this sale first started, then you should have received a $5 off coupon in your package, which you can of course use if you wanted to place another order for more shadows.

And just an FYI, the Skull Shadow Box I reviewed last week is still avaialble, but the clearance price is still the same ($12).

Thanks again for the heads-up, Jessica, and thanks to NA for the coupon reminder!

Spotted: New Kiss Lip Dress Temporary Lip Tattoos

Are you a fan of lip tattoos such as these? If so, you might be excited to know that there's now a drugstore alternative:

image credit: Abi for Nouveau Cheap

A huge thanks to reader Abi for this sighting. Abi spotted the new Kiss Lip Dress Temporary Lip Tattoos at Rite Aid, where they retail for just $2.99.

This display includes two designs: Fishnet and Glitter:

image credit: Abi for Nouveau Cheap

Nowhere on the display does it state these are limited edition, and the two designs don't seem very Halloween-ish, so I think the Halloween reference is a just a tie-in to the product launch (but I could be wrong). I would expect to see more designs in the coming months, and I'm assuming they'll make their way to Walgreens soon, since Walgreens seem to carry an extensive selection of Kiss products.

Are you a fan of temporary lip tattoos? Are you excited to see a drugstore version coming your way?

Thanks again, Abi, for the great sighting and pic!

Stamping Saturday (plate sale alert!)

A few weekends ago I declared Saturday Jelly Sandwich Day in my home, and today it's been Stamping Saturday around here. I've mentioned before on this blog that the weekends are when I really get to go wild with my manicures, and when I woke up this morning I was in the mood to bust out my stamper.

I reviewed the As Seen On TV Salon Express Nail Art Stamping Kit last November (click here for my in-depth review) when it first started showing up in drugstores. Nowadays, you can find it just about everywhere, from Big Lots to Ross to Target, etc. and it often retails for about $6.99 (be careful though, because some of the kits don't come with the double-ended stamper you see above).

I still love my stamping kit, but can you believe I have yet to buy any new plates for it?? I am so darned tired of the designs that came with this kit, so I want to thank reader Annette for giving us the  heads-up on the You Tell Me page about a sale over at BundleMonster.com!

Spotted: e.l.f. Fall 2012 Python Collection (Target-Exclusive)

Of all the Target-Exclusive limited edition collections that e.l.f. has released over the years, THIS is my favorite, for sure. This new collection is now popping up at Target locations across the country, so be on the lookout for it. (PS: It seems that animal print--snake skin in particular--is going to be a hot trend this fall in the drugstores).

I won't waste any more of your time with words--let's just get right to the fabulous pics!

First up, some photos of the display from reader @TellMeDelmy:

Sneak peek: another shade from the new Sally Hansen Lustre Shine Collection

A couple days ago, I shared with you a photo from Nylon Magazine of one of the shades of in the new Sally Hansen Lustre Shine Nail Color Collection called Plume. Well thanks to reader @jen_jenn_jennn, I've got another shade to show you in this soon-to-hit-drugstores collection:

Sally Hansen Lustre Shine Nail Color in Azure
(retail: $7.99, 0.33 oz)

@jen_jenn_jennn spotted this photo in the current edition of People StyleWatch (print edition) and was nice enough to share. Azure doesn't look as duochrome-y as Plume, but it's gorgeous nonetheless!

Thanks so much, @jen_jenn_jennn, for the great scoop and pic!

When any of you spot this collection in stores, please let us know! I hope we can find them soon.

Labor Day 2012 Beauty Sale Round-Up (please add to the list!)

First and foremost, I'd like to apologize to reader Melissa for failing to credit her for the comment on the You Tell Me page yesterday. Melissa took the time to write out ALL of the sales for Ulta's 21 Days of Beauty and I failed to see her comment before I wrote my post about it yesterday. So thanks very much, Melissa, for doing that for us. It is much appreciated! Rue21 5-day-sale and new eyeshadow palettes

Some of you may be too young to remember the iconic 80s television series, The A-Team. But whenever I receive great, corresponding info from multiple readers and I'm able to bring you that info in a timely manner, I can't help but utter this signature catchphrase:

Reader Annette left a comment on the You Tell Me page yesterday about a great deal at Rue 21. Now through Monday (9/3), you'll get $10 off every $30 you spend in-store with this printable coupon (there are a few exclusions like BOGO and 40% off or more items).

Sign up now to earn DOUBLE Quarterly Extra Bucks at CVS!

Thanks (again!) to reader Annette for this one:

Would you like to DOUBLE your Quarterly Extra Bucks at CVS? Yep, I said DOUBLE! Sign up here to make it happen.

NOTE: IF you're new to the CVS Extra Care program, Quarterly Extra Bucks are determined based on your regular, qualifying purchases each quarter. CVS ordinarily calculates your purchases and gives you 2% in Extra Bucks rewards each quarter, but it will double to 4% if you sign up for this offer. This offer does not double Extra Bucks that you get via the weekly sales, because those obviously print out immediately on your receipt. Everyone in the Extra Care program earns Quarterly Extra Bucks that print out every quarter based on regular, qualifying purchases made throughout the quarter. So this offer is going to double those Extra Bucks. If you would normally be getting $2 in Extra Bucks next quarter, you'll now get $4, and so on. For more info, please visit the CVS website.

The fine print regarding this offer:

*Your quarterly ExtraBucks Rewards will double to 4% on all eligible over-the-counter items purchased from 09/16/12 (or date of sign up after 09/16/12) to 12/15/12. Quarterly ExtraBucks Rewards will be available on your store receipt, ExtraCare Coupon Center or CVS.com 01/01/13-02/14/13. This promotion does not apply to circular ExtraBucks Rewards. Excludes alcohol, gift cards, lottery, money orders, prescriptions, postage stamps, pre-paid cards, tobacco products or items reimbursed by a governmental program. Members who do not spend $12.50 in qualifying over-the-counter items purchases or who do not otherwise reach a minimum of $0.50 in ExtraBucks Rewards by 12/15/12 will not receive rewards and will not have earnings carried over.

Thanks so much for the tip, Annette!

Review: Inglot Freedom System Square Eyeshadows

Unless you're totally new to beauty blogs, you've probably heard all of the raves about the Polish cosmetics brand Inglot and, specifically, their eyeshadows. I've been wanting to try their shadows for a long time, and when I posted about that 20% off sale at the beginning of August (sorry, it's now over), I finally caved and made my first order via the Inglot website.

Unless you're lucky enough to live near an Inglot boutique or counter, you might have a hard time trying to navigate through their extensive selection of eyeshadow colors and finishes (I just realized while writing this post that there is in fact an Inglot counter in San Diego, at the Macy's in Fashion Valley--how I missed that I will never know!). It was incredibly difficult for me to narrow down my first order and I actually ordered three additional shades not featured in this review (early Christmas gifts for friends).

HOT beauty deals (65-70% off beauty products, free shipping offers & free polish can be yours!)

I know I sound like a broken record, but if you haven't been checking the You Tell Me page lately, you're really missing out on some fantastic deals and tips from readers. The link to the You Tell Me page is located on the upper menu bar above, and I highly recommend checking the comments every time you visit this blog. I often can't post *all* of the deals that are submitted to me, and this is a great way to ensure you don't miss a thing when it comes to beauty on a budget.

That said, here's a round-up of some must-see deals submitted by readers in the past 24 hours:
  • Readers Stephanie and DC gave us the heads-up that Sephora just added lots of new clearance items to their sale page, including some items 65% off. Tokidoki eyeshadow palettes for $3, The Body Shop body washes for $5, a set of 3 full-size UPDDs for $22, and much more. Click here to view everything that's on sale. And remember to always check here for Sephora coupon codes before placing online orders (there's a free shipping code good on all orders for VIBs only that ends tomorrow, 8/31!).
  • Reader Annette let us know about the Too Faced Vintage Sale going on NOW.
Annette writes:
Too Faced Cosmetics: Save Up To 70% - Vintage Sale (ends 9/6/12)
*Free Deluxe Shadow Insurance with any purchase; use code INSUREME No other offers or promotions are valid during this sale.
*A "vintage sale special offer" showed up in my cart. I have no idea what it is, since the email made no mention of it.
*The site is extremely slow (right now) and I got a few errors, before finally reaching the checkout page.
*They don't have a shipping schedule listed, but when I put in a $10 palette, I got these prices:
(1) = $5.90
(5) = $9.45
  • Reader NaturalBeauty26 let us know about a great UNII Palette deal.
NaturalBeauty26 writes:
I was doing some looking around on SneeqPeeq and found that UNII palettes were on sale for ten dollars off normal price ($29). I also used my $10 credit for being a new member and scored a UNII palette for $10!!! The sale goes though September 4th if anyone else is interested!
Want more info about UNII Palettes? Check out NaturalBeauty26's blog post here.
  • And last but not least: How does a free Avon nail polish with free shipping sound? Annette shared with us that there's a new free shipping code (no minimum order) for Avon: enter LDSHIP at checkout (valid through 9/4). And if you use ShopAtHome, you can get a free Nail Wear Pro+ nail polish as part of their "Wild Cash Back" offer today only (8/30).

UPDATE: If you're planning on taking advantage of the free Avon polish deal today, check out Lacquer Lover's post here for some great swatches if you're having a hard time deciding on a color.

UPDATE 2:  For the Avon deal, you'll have to pay the $3.49 out of pocket, and then the full $3.49 will be reimbursed into your ShopAtHome account within 30 days. If you are not already a ShopAtHome member, ShopAtHome sends you your refund checks once you hit $20 in your account.

Thanks so much to Stephanie, DC, Annette and NaturalBeauty26 for the fantastic info! And as always, thanks to everyone who contributes to the You Tell Me page--it's such a great resource for all of us and I cannot thank you enough to taking the time to share you info with us.

Spotted: more Halloween 2012 displays

Please note: due to the high volume of submitted photos, I apologize that I cannot feature every submitted photo in these posts. If you have submitted photos of any of these products and you don't see your photos here, I am so sorry--I try to be as fair as possible and, if I receive multiple submissions, I try to use the first photos that I received (or I use my own photos if I've taken them before I receive submissions). Thank you so much for your understanding and I really appreciate everyone who takes the time to share product info here--it helps us all out so much and I wish I could run every single pic that I receive!

Review: Black Radiance Artisan Color Baked Blush in Raspberry

If you're new to this blog, you might not know that I'm a huge, longtime fan of Black Radiance (owned by Markwins, makers of Wet n Wild). You can select the Black Radiance category on the right-hand sidebar to see all of my past reviews, if you'd like to see some of my favorites and Holy Grails from this line.

Black Radiance products can be a little tricky to find (not all Rite Aid, CVS and Walgreens locations carry the line) but they're also in select Walmarts (and Kmarts too, I believe). You can also purchase most (but not all) Black Radiance products from Walgreens.com and Drugstore.com if you can't find them in your area.

Review: Fing'rs Flirt Nail Bling 3D Stick-On Designs

I picked up one of the new Fing'rs Flirt Nail Bling sets at Rite Aid about a month ago for around $1.99. I've always been interested in 3D nail art but not really caviar nails or any design that severely protrudes from the nail (I love the look, but it's just not practical for me personally). So I figured, for two bucks, why not give these stickers a try?

Sneak peek: new Sally Hansen Lustre Shine Nail Color Collection

Goodbye crackles and magnetics, hello duochromes! It looks like that's the hottest new trend for drugstore nail polish this year, and thanks to reader Noonish, I've got the facts to back it up! Noonish just left a comment on the You Tell Me page and included a great picture as well.

Noonish writes:
Ok I don't think you've mentioned anything like this yet, but in the September 2012 issue of Nylon magazine they have a beauty page with some products on it. One is something called Sally Hansen Lustreshine polish. The color looks to be like a bit of a Chanel Peridot dupe type of color?? It's called Plume according to Nylon's page.

Thanks so much, Noonish, for the heads-up about this new collection. I can't wait to find these polishes in stores (hopefully they'll start popping up soon!).

Continuing my coverage of the Maybelline Limited Edition Fall 2012 Fashion Week Collection (click here for my LE Color Tattoo review and here for swatches of the LE Olive Martini Quad), today I'd like to show you the complete collection of limited edition Color Show Nail Colors.

I purchased all six of these polishes at Rite Aid last week, but since some of you are having a hard time locating this collection, please note that readers have also spotted the Fashion Week displays at Walgreens and CVS. The problem is, new products don't always show up in drugstores at the same time at all locations, so you might not see these displays for a few weeks (or even a month). My suggestion is to call ahead and ask your CVS/Walgreens/Rite Aid if they have these products on the floor yet. If they say no, then you can always ask them approximately when they plan to put them out. That way you can avoid stalking your local drugstores every day until you spot them.

I have been battling a mild case of the flu for the past few days, so that set me a little behind on all things blog-related. I'm about halfway through the Weekly Drugstore Sales post right now, and it should be up within the next hour or so.

Something that caused me to stop blogging altogether today today was the fact that we've had several earthquakes here in the San Diego area today, with at least two of them in the 5.0 category (for those unfamiliar with earthquakes, 5.0s are not huge, but they're certainly enough to make you get up and run for cover).

As a native of San Diego, I'm used to these types of earthquakes and they normally wouldn't stop me from my usual daily tasks. However, this particular cluster of earthquakes was centered on the southern end of the San Andreas Fault, which is always cause for concern.

The Lipstick League – week of 8.20.12

Lipstick League Question of the Week:

When you think of autumn, what beauty product instantly comes to mind?

G's answer: I immediately think of my beloved Victoria's Secret Limited Edition Holiday 2009 Body Mist in Gilded Ginger Creme. I picked this up at the Victoria's Secret Outlet back in 2010, and I'm still kicking myself for not buying ten bottles of it at that time. I covet this body mist, and I only use it for a one-week period at the beginning of fall. After which time, it goes back into a dark closet to be brought out again the following year. Why Victoria's Secret hasn't re-released this scent since 2009 is beyond me. It's got a 4.8 average rating on Makeup Alley and I honestly think it was the best fall fragrance ever to be released by either VS or B&BW.
