Preview: New Wet n Wild Coverall Cream Foundation and Pressed Powder

I'm ridiculously excited about these, my lovelies! The new Wet n Wild Coverall Cream Foundation comes in seven shades with eight corresponding pressed powders. Take a peek:

Wet n Wild Coverall Pressed Powder

821 Fair, 822 Fair/Light, 823 Light, 824 Light/Medium

It's hard to tell in these photos (I'll have much better ones to show you when I do my full review) but 821 Fair is quite light (I hope this will work for all of you who have very pale/fair skin and have a hard time finding shades light enough at the drugstore!). To put it in perspective, I'm a MAC NC20 and I usually gravitate toward the second-to-lightest shade of powder in most drugstore lines. For these powders, I'm guessing that 824 Light/Medium will be the best fit for me, which is the 4th shade in this range.

 825 Medium, 826 Medium/Tan, 827 Tan, 828 Deep Tan

Please check back for my full review of the new Coverall line in the weeks to come!

  1. I think I just died and gone to foundation heaven...and I'm so thrilled to see there isn't any mineral oil in here (the liquids). I find many cream foundations to have that for the "creaminess" and it breaks me out like no other. Thanks for all the details!

  2. I can't wait to hear about these! I'm in between colors in my beloved Colorstay and have been on the hunt for something else, hoping for one with lots of choices in the "fair" category. I almost always grab second from the lightest in any drugstore makeup so similar to you.

  3. I need a shade similar to revlons photo ready Carmel? Which would you suggest? Thanks G!

  4. They might offer a shade light enough for my uber pale skin :)

  5. I cannot wait to hear your opinions on these new CC creams. I hope I fit somewhere in this color range.

  6. These look great, but I'm disappointed they don't have colors for brown girls. :(

  7. I'll have to check these out! I'm so glad to see them expanding their color selection (yay!).

  8. Hmmm...I do not see any shades dark enough for me.
    Oh well, pennies saved.

  10. Ooh, I'd like to see how the foundations perform! I do hope the lightest shade is light enough for me.

  11. I'm so pale, people say I look translucent! I'm hoping Fair will work for me. I'm currently using Maybelline SuperStay in Porcelain, but even that's too dark.

  12. Oohhh excited to see new foundation products!

  13. I'm really excited about these, I'm super pale, I use Elf's foundation in Porcelain but it doesn't have great coverage, it's the only thing that doesn't make me break out massively. I compared the ingredients to ELF's and a lot of them are the same so I should be good..

  14. Any news on when these will hit shelves? I've been stalking the drugstore like crazy.

  15. No shades for WOC. No surprise there. Hopefully theyll expand.

  16. The CC cream is the product I was most anticipating!! I can't wait for reviews!

I understand that Markwins owns WnW and Black Radiance. Still, they are doing a disservice to their customers by not accommodating WOC. I'm disappointed.

    1. I agree completly. And with the number of WOC that they know use their products it's really disappointing to say the least but not surprising at all. But silver lining: pale girls may have a hit with this.

  17. I truly don't understand why they don't make darker shades. These would FLY off the shelves--especially if the formula is oil free!

  18. I posted this on their facebook page:
Hello there Wet N' Wild! I have been a fan of your products for a LONG time. One of my very first nail polishes was the purple metallic one in the OLD style bottle with the tall white cap, I was the envy of every 6th grader. I am always excited for a new release and hunt down displays in CVS, Rite Aid, and Walgreens for the newest LE shadow or lipstick to add to my collection. When I heard you were releasing new foundations and powders I was incredibly excited because your products are great quality at an even better price point, then I saw the incredibly limited shade selection you have offered. It is not only disappointing, but incredibly disheartening that you did not include women of color with this release, despite the countless gurus of color on YouTube that have reviewed and praised your products, despite Black Radiance being your sister company, despite three or more of your own Beauty Ambassadors being women of color that do not fall into your limited color selection. I write this, and make it my plea to please release shades for us. We wear makeup too. We buy your products, we love your products.

  19. I am excited to try this, but I agree with what others have said. Shade range is extremely limited and that is very disappointing. This has to change in makeup. All women should be able to find their foundation shades. There has to be a change. Ive seen this from so many brands and I just don't understand it.

  20. I'm sad that they didn't include Black skin toned foundations!!! I usually opt to not purchase anything from a line that doesn't even attempt to recognize my African American skin but Wet n' Wild is so amazing, I'll give them a pass...this time! I'm hoping that they, at some point, make the decision to be a little more global-minded.

  21. Are these available in stores already?

  22. I saw these in the Fisherman's Wharf, San Francisco location! I bought the darkest shade they had which was Medium. Im an NC 35. I which it has sunscreen!

  23. I NEED THIS! when will we see them? and I agree wet and wild should make more of a range of colors even though markwins owns wet and wild and black radiance I don't understand why wet and wild would not include tanner shades

  24. These looks awesome... hopefully I can find the right shade for my skin. Def want to try this out!

  25. I found these at the Meijer in Mt. Pleasant, MI, and picked one up in Fair/Light. Can't wait to try it!

  26. Well I tried it. For $4 I guess it could be worse but it's going back because it highlighted every single dry spot or flake on my face. I swear it made some extra ones.. because I normally do not have anywhere near the problems I did today. I do have combination skin, mostly oily but prone to dryness around my nose and browbones. I also found it rather difficult to blend in, it just moved around the surface of the skin for the longest time. Once it dried it felt a lot better and it does not seem to transfer. The finish was blotchy in places where I have some redness, you could see the foundation sitting on top of the skin and little spots of the skin underneath peeking through. It feels a bit thick on the skin and I keep getting little spots that bug me, like around my nose and on my chin because I can feel it sitting there. I did not even try the powder, I used my HG which is really creamy and smoothing to try to even out the finish and texture. IMO Rimmel Clean Finish Matte is a much better foundation of a similar finish and is in the same price range, about $1 more.

I completely understand being frustrated that a product does not match your skin tone, I have fair strong yellow based skin and for many years could not find anything light enough that was not pink or grey... but WnW and BR are sister companies, and each cater to a different demographic. So basically Markwins was not only nice enough to provide shades in every cosmetic category specifically designed for darker skin.. they created an entire brand just for that demographic. Many of the products do cross over to either range of the spectrum, for example I own a ton of BR shadows and adore them.. but I would not be fussing at BR for not providing shades light enough for me when obviously I am not their intended market. I did check the website, and none of WnW's foundations or concealers come in very dark shades.

  27. I have yet to find these anywhere...was hoping to score the 40% off at right aid this week, but I went to two and no luck. Hope they come to my area soon. These look worth giving a try.

  28. I have oily skin and I live in South East Asia. Can I use this powder? I’m still considering between this and the Revlon Nearly Naked powder

  29. People who are complaining about the limited shade range should know that Wet n Wild and Black Radiance are both owned by the company Markwins. Black Radiance is catered towards darker skin tones and Wet n Wild is designed for lighter skin tones. Although many products from both lines work for any skin color like their eye makeup, nail polish, blushes, lipsticks, etc., the face makeup from each brand is not intended to extend to all skin tones. From the look of Black Radiance's website, their version of the Wet n Wild Cover Cream is the True Perfection Liquid Foundation. I don't know for sure, but it seems to claim the same kinds of things as this Wet n Wild foundation and comes in similar packaging.

Also, is anyone else wondering whatever happened to a review? I've been checking for such a long time; I was really looking forward to it :(
