Spotted: the newly-reformulated Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure polishes and new Salon Manicure Dry & Go Drops

Reader @tn_twistgirl83 spotted the newly-reformulated Complete Salon Manicure polishes at her local Walgreens recently and was kind enough to share:

Keep reading for more info...

As others have stated, some of these colors are the same as previous Complete Salon Manicure shades, but the names may, or may not, have changed. Also, I've heard from a few of you (thank you!) that there are some previously-limited-edition shades in this new collection as well.

Obviously this display only contains some of the shades in the new collection, since there are some blues and greens in the pic on the display as well.

Also in this display:

New Salon Manicure Dry & Go Drops
"Dries polish in 60 seconds"

A long, long time ago (seriously, you don't want to know how long ago), I used to use a quick-dry product, but it came in a regular polish bottle and you brushed it onto the nail (and it was super oily). In the 90s, I used to use the spray-can type dryer.  It's been a super long time since I've used anything to help dry my nails and I'm wondering if these drops have improved vastly from the products of yesteryear.

Do you use drying drops? Have you spotted the new CSM polishes in your area yet? Thoughts?

Thanks again, @tn_twistgirl83, for the great sighting and pics!

  2. I used to use drying drops (which never really seemed to work all that well) and that aerosol stuff from Sally's (ditto) but stopped after I started using Seche Vite top coat and don't need anything else to dry my polish.

    1. I have heard nothing but glowing praise for Seche Vite... Is it really as good as everyone says it is??

    2. it's not bad, but it does shrink your polish and if your polish dries too fast before you put it on the whole nail's worth of polish will unadhere and fall right off in one huge flake. i used to have it happen to me before i understood what was going on! personally it's not my cup of tea, but it does really dry your polish to a rock solid glass finish like it promises.

  3. I saw a pic of that CSM glitter. It looked pretty! Guess I need to keep an eye out for this new display. :)

I used to use a brush-on drying product back in the 90's. Drying drops and the sort are usually made of mineral oil. Any sort of oil will work the same way. I don't use drying drops now because I much prefer quick-dry top coat.

  4. Is this wishful thinking, or do I see Hidden Treasure on that display!? I feel like I would have heard something if that were the case, but I can hope, can't I?

    1. Oooh, I think you may be right, Sarah. Let's keep hoping!

    2. I saw the display at Meijer yesterday. I also immediately thought I saw Hidden Treasure. But alas, it was not. It was, however a gorgeous opalescent glitter polish called snow globe, I believe. So I bought it anyway!!

  5. Uh-oh---there goes my food budget. I will sacrifice for nail polish (except coffee, I MUST have coffee!). My husband may not like this idea, tho. I see some pretty interesting shades in that picture. Unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on how you look at it, I have not spotted this display yet.

As for drying drops and other fast-dry products, I hate drying drops. I always seem to make a total mess with them. I do use quick dry top coat, tho. I have Out the Door, Essie Get Up and Go (I think that's the name), Revlon Quick Dry Top Coat and one or two others. I do like using them, and definitely recommend them.

BTW, G, I recall the oily quick dry top coat you mentioned. I used it also, but I can't recall whether I liked it. I do remember it being very oily, tho!

  7. I do remember using a super oily drying drops back in the day. I tried it at night when I needed to go to bed and remember ending up with oil on my pillow case and sheet marks on my nails! Hahaha. Anyway I cannot wait to find this new SH display! Thank you for the update!

  9. The SH drying drops are seriously amazing! I recommend it to all my friends and will never be without. You should pick one up because they really do make your polish dry very quickly, but also provide a "protective layer" over your manicure in case you nick your nails on something.

  10. I still have an old bottle of Wet n Wild "Flash Dry" and I remember using the spray too. A friend of mine read on pinterest that you can use Pam cooking spray to instantly dry your nails (spray then wipe off) but I can't bring myself to try it! Now I just use Seche Vite and I'm good to go. (Usually, I tend to paint thick.)

  11. I just use some kind of quick-drying top coat, and am pretty happy with it. The NYC one is doing pretty well by me. I just read on some blog about using olive oil. The writer says she cleans out an old nail polish bottle and puts olive oil in it and uses that to help her manicure dry quickly. Sounds a bit optimistic to me, but I bet it keeps the nails and cuticles healthier.

  12. Hm...I'll definitely have to check out the reformulated polishes. I'm impressed because I already loved the Sally Hansen Salon Manicure polishes--I think they're great--so I'm sure that I'll love these ones (at least I hope...)

I've never used a drying product like drops or spray or anything before, but I do use a fast-drying top coat now (Seche Vite or Essie's), which I implimented into my mani-routine several months ago--what a difference!! :D

  13. I use OPI drying drops. I love it. I especially like to use it when I use some glitter polishes, such as Milani One Coat Glitter. That particular polish gives the look that you dipped your nails in loose glitter. I like to keep that finishing look, so drying drops are great for that. (Thanks G for introducing Milani into my life about a year ago.)

  14. I have Sally Hansen Dry Qwik, and I like it. It is pretty oily, but since the directions say to massage your cuticles once the polish is dry, so perhaps it's on purpose. I polish my nails at night anyway, so I just think of it as a combination polish drier (I haven't had sheet marks since I started using it!) and cuticle oil in one.

  15. Does anyone know if they changed the brushes on the newly-reformulated SH Complete Salon Manicure polishes? I just don't like that brush!

I've never tried any kind of drying drops. I use either Seche Vite or the NYC fast drying top coat (which for a cheap fast drying top coat, it works really well - dries fast and shiny).
