Spotted: New Revlon Nearly Naked Makeup and Pressed Powder

There's nothing that causes a frenzy around here more than when Revlon releases a new foundation. So tell your inner lemmings to sit tight because reader Emi of Project Swatch just found this collection at Rite Aid, which means you'll no doubt be able to find it soon in your neck of the woods!

"Undetectable Coverage"

"Unbelievable Complexion"

"Makeup so refreshingly light, it melts right in,
creating a fresh even look. Blends seamlessly, buildable coverage."

Are those words magic to my ears? Why of course! Keep reading for more pics...

Not sure if the $9.99 price is in reference to the powder, the foundation or both...

There are 14 shades of foundation in this display, and four shades of powder. There is also a booklet that looks like it will help you determine your skintone, undertone and the shade that will work best for you (great idea!).

Interesting that the powder compacts look just like the PhotoReady compacts, only white.

Another interesting observation: Almay has a foundation with the exact same name and bottle shape. Not really shocking since Revlon owns Almay, and I think the Almay Nearly Naked foundation has been discontinued (you can still find it here, but sites like Walgreens and Drugstore.com only sell the loose powder now).

Anyway, I'm wondering if this new Revlon Nearly Naked will be similar in formula to the Almay Nearly Naked (I don't think I ever tried the Almay version, but I recall hearing it was like a tinted moisturizer and quite good).

I think it goes without saying that I will be trying this new foundation...how could I not? So expect a review as soon as I get my hot little hands on a bottle and give it a good testing!

Thanks so much, Emi, for the great sighting and pics!

  1. I *think* the powder and foundation were $9.99 each, but I'm not 100% sure. I'll double check if I see another display or go back to that store!

  2. I'm excited to see reviews on these products but boy those bottles sure are ugly! They look like something Almay would put out.

    1. Wait, is that a reference to the Almay Nearly Naked foundation I mentioned in this post, or did you not see that and just thought it looked like something Almay would put out (because if that's the case, how funny that they actually DID release a foundation in the same bottle shape with the same name).

  3. I'm curious, but I'll wait for your review. I tried your HG, the Physicians Formula compact/powder foundation, and love it. Even picked up a couple backups at Big Lots! With the right brush it's easy for me to look reasonably human in just a couple minutes with that stuff.

    1. Oh Heidi, I am SO glad that the PF worked for you!! I'm so sad that it's not as easy to find anymore, so i'm definitely trying other things and will for sure review this one.

And lol at ” reasonably human”! I know exactly what you mean... ;)

  4. I'm so curious to try this!!! I still haven't tried the Revlon colorstay or photo ready foundation, but I really do think Revlon is the best in the drugstore foundation. I hope this bottle comes with a pump

    1. The colorstay whipped that I reviewed a while back is a nice place to start if you're thinking about trying a CS foundation. :)

  5. Oooh I'm curious about this foundation! I'll read up on the reviews when they're available.

I like how there was a booklet to check out the shades too.

    1. Since this collection is not part of the ColorStay family, I would probably say that no, they're not. Revlon's long-wear line is ColorStay, so I think it would be called "ColorStay Nearly Naked" if it were long-wear. Hope that helps!

  7. I can't wait for your review! I'll definitely wait for it before going out to buy this foundation. Sadly, here in Canada, we're probably going to get this in 6 months... Lol.

    1. Well if it makes you feel any better, you guys got the new Revlon polishes and a whole boatload of other things from Maybelline (the new Color Tattoos!), L'Oreal and Almay waaaay before we did! :)

  8. I had no idea Revlon owned Almay. Is that a recent (within the last few years) development? I used to wear Almay for everything years ago, then stopped completely when I realized there were a lot better products out there. However I picked up a few things during the last big CVS clearance and was wowed by how much better it was.. the blush and bronzer in particular. Maybe I need to try some of their newer shadows...

I too will wait for your review on this line, especially the ingredient list. I'm scared to death to try another Revlon foundation after my experience with the colorstay whipped.. the high acid content burned my face.. it was NOT fun.

    1. Nope! According to wikipedia, Revlon acquired Almay in the mid 1980s.

Sorry to hear about your experience with the whipped foundation. :( luckily I don't have that reaction to SA...

    2. I'm glad I'm not the only one who had a weird reaction to the Colorstay Whipped! It made my face feel great and look flawless, but the smell...OH LORD THE SMELL. And it lingered. All. Day. Long. It smelled like something had died on my face, I can hardly describe it other than "a scent of something rotten that they tried to cover with chemicals." I had to throw away the otherwise wonderful foundation because it smelled so bad!

  9. I always love the formula of Revlon foundations, but the colors run so darn dark! I'm extremely fair and even the lightest colors in their line look completely orange or pink against my skin. These unfortunately look like they are running very dark as well. I really like Emma Stone so I keep hoping with her as an ambassador they will give us pale girls some love and expand their shade range =P

    1. I hope that when you see them in person, there will be a shade that works for you!

    2. Same here.... in fact, most drugstore foundations are WAY too dark for me. Even the palest of the pale tend to be too dark.

  11. what if Revlon is phasing out Almay or reconfiguring their own branding? I agree that this looks a LOT like an Almay product. Maybe Almay will be rebranded as a more luxurious brand - less Clinique, more Laura Mercier.

  12. I totally didn't see that reference! Am I good or what? :)

  13. I don't think the fairest is fair enough for me boo

  14. for some reason ive been so discouraged in new foundations, they just arent what they used to be. but in the back of my mind im hoping this isnt like the fit me foundation which i hated. love that they have a range of colors though. and can someone please tell revlon to stop making the powder in those huge containers. its inconvenient and once u open it u realize the size doesnt match the product.

  15. They don't seem to have them in the uk yet... I have been looking for something like this foundation for so long now! Loved the naked skin, but too expensive to buy year round :/
