NOTE: Whenever I review glitter polishes, I inevitably receive a few comments from new readers about how they don't like to wear glitters because they're difficult to remove. HOPEFULLY I can prevent any comments of that nature this time around and suggest once again that you read Elvira's tutorial on the Foil Method for removing glitter polishes.  This removal method is a game-changer!

As promised, here's the third and final installment of my series covering 18 of the new Jordana Glitters Specialty Nail Polishes. You can purchase these shades on the Jordana website, and you can also purchase select shades at Kmart (if they're not at your local Kmart yet, they should be there by early Feb.).

These polishes retail for $2.99 each. They are Big Three Free and made in the USA. For more information on this collection, please click here.

And now, the final six polishes in this series:

As I mentioned in my previous posts, I took these photos in low light and without flash in order to show you the glitter detail (sunlight and flash tend to wash out glitter). So in real life, these glitters are very sparkly and shiny even though they may look "flat" in my photos.

For all of the following swatches, the first nail was done with THREE COATS (no base color). The second nail was done with ONE COAT over a black creme polish. The third nail was done with ONE COAT over a white creme polish. I did not use top coat for any of my nail wheel swatches.

Described on the Jordana website as "clear with gold chunky glitter", I actually think that there's a very subtle yellow tint to the base color of this polish. I'll have to find my bottle of Milani Gold, but I'm pretty sure that this is a very close dupe (for those of you who don't know, Milani and Jordana are sister companies). Funky Gold Town is what I'd called the epitome of  bling when it comes to nail polish. In person, the chunky gold hexagonal glitter in this polish shines so intensely that it almost looks like you have gold jewelry on your nails.

Gold Glam is the only polish I own that contains holographic DIAMOND-SHAPED glitter. There is also fine gold glitter in this one, as well as fine holo glitter, but the real star of the show is that diamond holo glitter. The diamond glitter is sparse, but I did manage to pick up at least one particle in every brush stroke. Of course it's a challenge to get these pieces of diamond glitter onto your nail, but with a little work it can be done (as you can see in my photos).

Jordana describes this one as "fine and chunky copper and gold glitter" and I would totally agree with that description. At first I thought that the copper chunky glitter in this polish was square-shaped, but it's actually hexagonal (like the gold chunky glitter). My photos on this nail wheel really don't do this one justice, so please note that I'll show you what it looks like on my own nails a little later in this post. This is one of those polishes that really benefits from a good layer of clear top coat.

Described as "clear with fine and chunky bronze glitter", the base color of Copper Blaze actually has an orange-y tint to it (see the swatch over white). This one very much reminds me of Magenta Magic, Pixie Pink, and a few other polishes in this collection, with the only difference being the color of the glitter (in this case, bronze).

Described as "clear with fine gold and chunky red, blue and gold glitter", I'd say that description is spot-on. I absolutely LOVE the color combination of this polish (I'll show it to you on my own nails in a bit) and even though I own a ton of multi-colored glitter polishes, I don't own one quite like this.

What would a collection of glitter polishes be without a Happy Birthday dupe? Described as "clear with multi-colored fine and chunky glitter", Gemstones immediately brings to mind Milani Gems (the 2.0 version, not the 1.0 version). But I believe that Jordana Gemstones is more densely-packed with glitter than Milani Gems 2.0 (you can see my swatches of Milani Gems and other multi-colored glitter polishes in this post). If you look at my swatch of Milani Gems 2.0 after one coat, and compare it to these pics of Jordana Gemstones after one coat on the white nail, I think you'll see exactly what I'm talking about.

I picked my two favorite polishes of the six polishes featured in this post to show you on my own nails:

I couldn't quite capture the true beauty of these polishes in photos but, to the naked eye, Bronze Fest looks like crushed bronze and gold on the nail, while My Superstar looks like crushed gems on the nail.

For all of these photos, I used TWO coatS of each glitter polish over the base color (I used a black creme from WnW for Bronze Fest and I used Sally Hansen Pacific Blue for My Superstar). I then applied one layer of clear top coat on all of my nails.

I hope that this series has given you a better idea of the 18 polishes that are currently available in this collection.  Remember, there are SIX ADDITIONAL SHADES that have yet to be released! I cannot wait to see what those six polishes are like in person, since I am extremely impressed with the variety and color combinations of the 18 shades I've shown you so far.

Have you purchased any of these shades at your local Kmart? If you can't find them at your Kmart, they're also available on the Jordana website.

  1. I found some at a KMart. They didn't even have them listed in their register's date base! I only got 3 to start off with. I got Cosmic (blue glitter), Fairy Dust (pink glitter) and Sequins (magenta, teal and silver glitter). Now you have a couple here that I didn't see so I'll add onto my list Gemstones and My Superstar.
    Thanks for reviewing these.

  5. L: please see the first paragraph of this post for details on the easiest way (in my opinion) to remove glitters. When I use this method I NEVER have a problem with removal. Hope that helps you.

  6. I was able to find a few of these polishes at my Kmart this past weekend. :D They were just sitting there on part of the display, not really IN the display. I only got Fairy Dust since they didn't have any of the others that have looked exciting to me, but I really want to go check back soon. XD

  7. I bought Sequins at my Kmart last week, I think it around the same day as your review and it wasnt in the data base either it was so new. Anyway I love Sequin and now I want Gemstone even though I have several others that are close! At my Kmart the new colors were mixed in with all the regular products and there was nothing to indicate that they were new...

  8. My hunny found all 12 for me at Kmart. He went to several stores & oddly enough, he found them at a Kmart that's scheduled to close.I posted 2 videos on my YT channel showing them. I can't wait for the new ones to be released. Also, some of the new Milani nail polish colors are showing up at Kmart too. I'll post a video soon. xoxo

  9. A couple of these are dupes for some Kleancolor polishes.

"Gold Glam" looks like Kleancolor's "24 Carat" (you can see a swatch here: http://pinknailsla.blogspot.com/2011/04/my-first-blog-giveaway.html )

"My Superstar" looks like my adored Kleancolor "Firework" (bottle shot here: http://nailside.tumblr.com/post/7432302598/kleancolor-firework and here's a blog with swatches over green: http://as-a-hatter.blogspot.com/2012/01/kleancolor-firework.html )
