Spotted: new (and repromoted) Revlon nail polishes

This post is entirely a group effort between several amazing readers. First of all, a few of you took time to leave comments recently about this new display, which I want to thank you for since it's been on my radar ever since. Unfortunately, I haven't yet found this display in my area, but then reader Veronika emailed me and told me that she spotted this display at her local Harmon Discount and that, after careful examination, she spotted shades that were repromotes of previous limited edition polishes. Thanks so much for that info, Veronika!

And THEN, reader Chele spotted the display at her local Walgreens and shared some amazing pics.

Do two of the above shades stand out to you as "familiar"? Without a doubt, two of most talked-about Revlon polishes in recent years have been Perplex (the Chanel Paradoxal dupe) and Facets of Fuchsia (the Deborah Lippmann Bad Romance dupe). Instead of making them legendary-but-gone-forever, Revlon brought them back with new names and added them to the permanent collection! If you missed out on either one, here's your second chance. Kudos, Revlon, for making these two shades available to all of us once again!

The new names are as follows:
Facets of Fuchsia is now Scandalous
Perplex is now Naughty

And if you don't believe me, Chele shared photos of Facets of Fuchsia and Perplex and compared them to Scandalous and Naughty:

So exciting!! I believe that there are other shades in this new display that are also repromotes of older shades, but if you have more info or confirmation on that, please please leave a comment and let us know!

A huge thanks to all of the readers who left comments about this display, as well as to Veronika for the info and to Chele for the amazing photos. I cannot thank you all enough for this info!

Have you spotted the new Revlon polish display in your area? Are you happy that Perplex and Facets of Fuchsia are back?

  1. I saw this as well and actually bought Chic (a dusty light teal), which wasn't displayed in the pictures. I saw this display at both Harmon's and Walgreens in NJ. From what I could tell, though, Impulsive looked like Royal Cloak without the flakies. Since there weren't any bottles nearby of RC I couldn't do an accurate comparison.

  2. Wait a minute...does this mean that the whole Expressionists collection was limited edition? I thought it was supposed to be permanent...anyone know? I'm still lemming for Starry Pink!

  3. YES!!! I've been sad over never finding the Perplex displays ever since they came out, but I had no idea they were going to rename the shade and sell it again. This makes me sooo happy. :)

  4. Very excited about Perplex coming back as Naughty. I totally missed out on it. I'm very interested to see some of the other colors, too.

  5. I love the green on the next to last row.

  6. I saw this yesterday at one of my Walgreens and almost had a hissyfit in the aisle; good thing the store was empty! I've always wanted Perplex, so I snatched up Naughty immediately. I already have Facets of Fuschia, but I'm still glad they're making it available to everyone. :) Are every single one of these shades new or repromotes? There were a few that looked similar to what's already on shelves.

You know, now that Revlon owns Sinful Colors, I wish they would begin doing repromotes with SC polishes, or at least add a lot more new releases to the core collection. There are SO many of their LE polishes that I've never had a chance to get my hands on, whether it was because they weren't sold in my area or I just didn't get to them in time. I'd really like to get their flakies, Adventure Island collection, and Winterberry, just to name a few.

@Amanda: Impulsive is most likely a repromote of the LE polish Rock, which was released with the LE polish Star. The colors of Royal Cloak and Rock ARE extremely similar, though; I have both. :D

Knockout looks like it could be a repromote of the LE polish Lunar, which was released with the LE glitter polish Galaxy. I'm not exactly 100% on this one, though. I have Lunar and when I saw Knockout, that's what it reminded me of; they're both inky blacks.

  7. That is really cool! I am just wondering why they changed the names of the polishes... ?

  8. Rose- You can get Starry Pink at Target, it's part of the core display there.

I'm heading to Walgreens first thing tomorrow morning to see if they have these!!

  9. Hmm yeah i thought facets of fuschia was permanent too, aka the expressionists collection (only the nail polishes though).
i remember reading somewhere that the expressionist collection for the nail polish at TARGET is permanent though :D

  10. That's great about bringing Perplex back...I actually won it on a blog when I was unable to find it. I have Facets of Fuschia...so I'm glad that now available...its worth every penny, nickel and dime.

  11. @Rose At my Target,I've seen the 3 polishes from the Expressionists collection. It is located with the permanent collection.

  12. Just an aside, I saw Facets of Fuschia (it didn't say Scandalous on the bottle, not sure why), in a Walgreens in Libertyville, IL yesterday. It looked like a new display, so I don't think it was left over.

  13. Some of those also look like the 'Edgy' foils they recently did. There's also been a spotted 'Glitter in the Air' dupe. Hooray for Revlon! I love them AND their retro bottle!!!

  14. The Purple looks a lot like OPI Funkey Dunkey, which is good, since that is a great medium purple shade and sometimes HTF.

  15. I really want Sparkling!
Does Dreamer look like Blue Lagoon to anyone else?

  16. It'd be GREAT if someone could gather up a list of what old shades these new names go with!

I'd love to look some of them up so I won't have to spend 3 hours deciding in the store...

Facets of Fuchsia, Perplex, Rock, Blue Lagoon, Lunar, ??

I feel like Revlon changed the names to make it like a secret surprise for nail fanatics...however, I think it's semi-wrong to put "NEW SHADE" stickers on all of them...

  17. I went out on my lunch hour to Walgreens and picked up Naughty, Impulse, Dreamer and Sassy. If these are repromoted nail polishes...well that's fine for me because I didn't have these colors anyway especially since I always wanted Perplex.

Now here's the kicker...the polishes sell for $4.99 each. All Revlons products are BOHO and the sales associated also gave me a manufacturer coupon for a dollar off. So I saved 8 dollars!

    Happy Day!!!

  18. I'm so happy you write about drugstore deals because I came across Scandalous the other day at Walgreens (well last night) and thought to myself that looks just like my Facets of Fuchsia which is a dead on dupe for my Deborah Lippmann Bad Romance. Now I need to go back for it because it's such a fantastic color.

  19. Does anyone know if Sparkling (the pink glitter) is a dupe for Essie A Cut Above from the new Luxeffects collection?

  20. There are two versions of this display, the one you have pictured and a larger one with 32 total polishes. They both have the same photo on the display but there are an additional 12 polishes on the bigger one. I have (bad) photos from my phone if you'd like - not sure how to send them to you.

The larger display has the Deborah Lippman dupe for Glitter in the Air called Whimsical as well as other new colors and glitters.

  21. G, not related to this post but would you consider reviewing and lip swatching Revlon's Decadent Colorburst lip gloss from the Spice It Up collection?

Seems up your alley too, now that you've fallen for purple lips ;P

    Thanks so much!

  22. If you missed out on Smoky Canvas, Graceful is the "new" shade dupe. I'm hoping that they dupe Carbonite next. Even though I have a backup, I didn't realize how much I would like it so I'd like it to be permanently available.

  23. I picked up the grass green (Posh) because I thought it was close to Essie Pretty Edgy and "Smoldering", which is a very close relative to OPI Not Like the Movies - with serious duochrome flash. A bit streaky though.

@Caitlin - Let's see those pics of the 32 polish display!!! I'd love that! =)

  24. I spotted this display at one of our Walgreens. I picked up Fashionista and Charismatic. Love them! They were bogo half off, and I had $1 off coupons too. Not bad!

  25. I'm surprised no one mentioned in the comments yet about the new shade Whimsical. It's a dupe for DL's Glitter in the Air. I found it today at Harmon (east coast based regional store).

  26. I saw a "similar" display at Bed Bath and Beyond, they had some of these (if not all I didn't really realize you'd already written about it.) But their's was bigger. More like 8 polishes across 4 tiers 2 colors each AND G they had your favorite Starry Pink with a new name "POPULAR #230". I'd just found Starry Pink a couple of weeks ago at Rite Aid. Last one.

I was looking for the Facets of Fuchia and ended up getting Scandalous. It looks EXACTLY like your original pictures. I also got a color called Whimsical which is a pastel blue with pretty pink and blue hexegonal shapes and fine blue glitter. Can't wait to try it.

  27. I think I'm going to purchase Cloud. It's a pale blue and almost looks like a dupe for OPI I Vant To Be A Lone Star.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I picked up Naughty and a shade called Sparkling - it is so pretty!! It's a pink/green duochrome with sparkley flecks!! And the duochrome translates onto the nail nicely! Revlon is awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Oops The duochrome is actually called Smoldering'

  30. Found these at my local walgreens in south jersey!! They were hiding up on a top shelf in the shampoo aisle. Plus there is a coupon for $1 off!

  31. I have been trying to find FoF forever... but I don't think Scandalous is going to be any easier for me to find. I don't have a Walgreens, my Walmart only carries about 10 Revlon polishes and my CVS doesn't carry any. :[

  32. I'm so super stoked about the Scandalous color- I saw Facets of Fuchsia on Pinterest and had to find it. When I saw the Scandalous at Walgreens last night, it was a dream come true! Thanks for the update on these colors, I'll have to go back and look for naughty now! :P

  33. I own Dreamer (light dusty blue) and it is the crappiest nail polish I have ever owned. Chips minutes after application. It is almost as though they specifically designed it to chip. Total waste of money.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I bought Naughty and scandalous
However somebody tried Naughty in the drugstore so the neck was full of dried polish and it caused the pretty shimmer to separate from the rest :(
At least it was only 4 dollar
