(Updated with more pics) Wet n Wild Limited Edition Coloricon Sparkle City Collection

UPDATE: more photos added - 6:30PM Pacific, 9/17

A few days ago, a reader on Facebook told me about the new Wet n Wild Limited Edition Coloricon Sparkle City collection, which apparently is popping up at Harmon (on the east coast) and Fred Meyer (in the pacific northwest).

And then this morning, The Peach (who's doing a fantastic DIY lipgloss series right now over on her blog), was kind enough to share these pics with me. The Peach purchased these at her local Fred Meyer:

Does the packaging on these look a little bit familiar to you? If you remember last year's Pixie Holiday Palettes, then I'm sure you're nodding in agreement right now, since the packaging is quite similar. The biggest difference with this new collection vs. last year's holiday collection is that these shadows are CREAMS and, according to The Peach, each palette comes with a black glittery liner (I believe there were a few different shades of liner in last year's Pixie Holiday palettes).

The names of the palettes are as follows:
Tinsel Mall, Shimmer Station, Twinkle Town and Main Street Glitz

UPDATE: The Peach just sent some additional photos, including some great close-ups of each palette:

So, what do we think of these new LE palettes from Wet n Wild? Cream eyeshadow gals: are you excited to find these in your area?

Once again, these have been spotted at Harmon and Fred Meyer so far, but looking at my posts from last year, I noticed that the Pixie Holiday palettes started showing up at Meijer (in the midwest) around mid-to-late September, so be on the lookout for them there too. As for the rest of us, we'll probably have to wait a month or so before they start popping up at places like Rite Aid, if these are distributed in the same manner as last year's palettes.

Thanks again to The Peach for the fantastic pics!

  4. Do you know if these are the holiday palettes this year? I kind of hope not since that's a bit too much glitter for my eyes, and I worry about wearing cream eyeshadows because of creasing...

  5. Oh those look so pretty! I will have to check out Fred Meyer.

  8. I love the colors!!! But I have not been successful with WnW creme shadows. Booo!

  9. I hope I can find these at my walgreens. They don't seem to be stocking any limited edition Wet n Wild stuff. :(

  10. GASP AND SWOON! Cremes and me don't do well, but I MUST HAVE THESE!!!

  11. I wonder if these are the same kind of glitter/cream as the Halloween Fantasy Makers palettes? Or if they have more of a color to the cream base? If they're like the Halloween palettes I'll probably skip them, but if they're nice creamy things with added glitter I'll be all over 'em!

  12. Holy sparkles. I NEED these now. I really hope they show up in my area. Can we get a map for these too please?

  13. really? Is this what's for holiday from WnW?I'm a bit disappointed:( Is the momentum burning out for them?...no way glitter palettes. I can get something similar to this from the BSS from Kleancolor for $2.99!:(

  14. I agree with Ahisma. The glitter cream shadows from the Halloween palettes aren't that great. What I've found is that they are just metallic cream shadows with a layer of glitter on the top. The glitter doesn't go all the way through the cream. So, if they are anything like that, I'd skip them!

  15. Holy moley! I'm not even an eyeshadow girl and I am going to want this gLitterly goodness!! I hope hope hope to find some WNW LEs somewhere somehow. So far, not a thing.

  16. OK so I just picked up 2 of the halloween palettes from wet n wild and they are cream like the LE ones here and from the pics some of the colors look similar--- but since i have not seen or swatched the LE ones i do not know for sure! hope not since the halloween ones are really in my opinion very costume like chunky glitter suitable for what it was intended fer sure! lol

  17. Not impressed one bit. All they did was take the holiday palettes from last year and make a creamy version...hopefully they will actually come out with something exciting for the holidays because I was looking forward to something even better than last year!

  18. Quick question. Any idea if "Let's Celebrate" is a new collection from WnW or an old one simply brought out by RiteAid? I don't recall seeing or hearing about it last year but the names remind me of New Years.

  19. How do they swatch? Is it all glitter or more shadow... I'm also curious is these actually ever set or will they crease.

  20. picked up 2 of the palettes at Harmon the other day, haven't tried them yet but as a few others have said, I'm not crazy about their cream shadows so we'll see

  21. Oh how I hope I can find these and it is not a repeat of all the other LE wnw that I never seem to find in my area!

  22. I agree with meroekhalia...these look like last year's holiday palettes, but in cream form. Since I missed out on last year's collection, I was looking forward to this year's. I hope they have more to offer, in addition to this. I'm not a glitter girl, so I'm probably going to skip these palettes, unless I see some amazing swatches. Thanks for sharing, G! :)

  23. So I went to one of my two local Fred Meyers and nothing... yet... BUT they did have a brand new display from On The Prowl! With the B1G1 50% off I picked up one of each color. Just wish Sparkle City was in stock there.

  26. O.O These are soooooo pretty!!! I have a list of Wet 'n Wild lemmings a mile long! *adds these to list* I hope they're readily available as their displays have become to almost impossible to find. Thanks for updating the pics with close-ups of these pretty palettes! I can't wait to see swatches of these! :D

  27. @idrinknailpolish, I have that list too, I have been looking for the limited edition Wet N Wild but have not find them. These glitters look so pretty I want them all :)

  28. So I went this morning to the second Fred Meyer which opened at 7 AM. I was there by 7:10 AM and home by 7:30 AM. LOL What did I find? Sparkle City AND BOG1 50% is STILL going on (ends 9/24).

Wish I bought out the display (two of each palette) but I was good and decided to leave the other set for someone else. I just might hit the first store and see if they got their display in and buy a second set so I can do swatches without feeling too guilty for destroying how pretty the palettes look. lol

So since I have Pixie Holiday from last year and now these I decided to see how well they stack up to each other.

Twinkle Town vs Snow Sprite: So Twinkle Town is the blue/green combo while Snow Sprite is more of the green/silver combo. While similar they are not that close.

Shimmer Station vs Golden Goddess: Shimmer Station is more on the red side than Golden Goddess. Shimmer Station is what I think Golden Goddess should have looked like since the colors in that are richer (least in the palette).

Tinsel Mall vs Sugar Plum Fairy: No where close to being similar. Tinsel Mall has a silver and black glitter while Sugar Plum Fairy has purple. There's a hot pink and dark blue in Tinsel Mall that's not in SPF.

Main Street Glitz vs Night Elf: These are the two that are most similar. There are only two color differences with MSG having a gold and a second dark gray glitter.

I just wish these palettes lasted longer and didn't crease as badly as they do but over all the colors are really nice. I've paired the red glitter cream from the Fantasy Makers palette (off hand can't recall which one) with Bite Me from Fyrinnae and a black one from ELF. I found this helps with the creasing and helps make it last longer. Those of you who have tried the cream glitters from WnW have you found these crease and if so how do you correct the problem?

  29. Like most people, cream shadows are not my friend, but these look like so much fun. I will probably end up getting one or two.

  30. These would be a perfect base for the palettes from Christmas time last year, since they are the exact same colors ; )

    ReplyDelete
  31. Oh. These look as bad as the chalky, itchy looking NYX glitter palettes.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I just saw some FantasyMakers palettes similar to these at HEB in Texas today.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I bought Main Street Glitz this weekend - top layer of glitter over metallic cream shadows. The cream shadows seem to have some sparkle to them, but I am not entirely sure if it's just the glitter layer mixing in. I've not tried WnW's cream shadows before so it will be interesting to see if UD Primer Potion helps with creasing.

  34. Corpus Christi Texas I been seeing them all over now but they started popping up 3 -4 wks ago around town .I'm going to do swatches and makeup loos with them this week.

  35. Found these at CVS today. I'm in Virginia. They are so pretty but I can't really wear stuff like this as I'm so fair it just looks like clown makeup.
