Review: New EOS Active Care Hand & Body Lotion

I really didn't think things could get any better than the new EOS Everyday Hand Lotion, which I reviewed here (that packaging is too adorable, isn't it)? But recently I was sent the new Active Care Hand and Body Lotion for review, in the same delicious scent "Refresh" and, well, it DOES get better.

EOS Active Care Hand and Body Lotion in Refresh
(retail: $7.99, 12 oz)

Ingredients: Water (Eau), Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Cocoglycerides, Glyceryl Stearate, Dimethicone, Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Avena Sativa (Oat) Meal Extract, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Retinyl Palmitate, Fragrance (Parfum), Carbomer, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, DMDM Hydantoin, Sodium Hydroxide.

Here's why it gets better: now I can have both a convenient little hand lotion for my purse, and a big ol' bottle for home use. This scent, Refresh, has GOT to be the best cucumber scent I've ever experienced in a body product. It's not just cucumber, it's aloe too, and it's got such a soft, feminine fragrance about it that just screams "fresh and clean". Even if you don't generally go for cucumber scents, I think you might love this one.

As for the lotion itself, I love that it's free of animal products, parabens, dyes, etc., and it contains things like shea butter, aloe, macadamia seed oil and other things that skin will love. This is not a heavy lotion, but don't let that fool you--it does a really nice job of moisturizing my dry, wintertime skin, yet it doesn't leave a heavy or greasy coating behind.

In the above pics, I wanted to give you an idea of the consistency of this lotion. When I pump it out of the bottle, it's not runny or watery, but once I spread it on my skin, it feels nice and light and it's easy for my skin to absorb.

If you've got severely dry skin, this may bit a bit too light for rougher areas, but as an overall hand and body lotion, I think it's absolutely fantastic and I've been using it non-stop since I received it.

FINAL VERDICT: If you're a cucumber fan, this one's a winner all the way around. If you've never been big on cucumber scents in the past, I think this might completely change your opinion. This would be a fantastic lotion for work (it won't greasy up your keyboard if you use it on your hands) and I also think this works beautifully as a quick all-over body lotion to apply right out of the shower. I think it moisturizes quite well for a light lotion, but if your skin is severely dry, you might require something a bit more heavy-duty. For spring and summer, this would be an ideal lotion to keep in your stash. And that smell...amazing!

You can purchase EOS products online and at retailers such as Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid, Target and Walmart.

What's your favorite EOS product? I love their lip balms too (of course)!

  1. I was *just* at Target and didn't even look at the lotions! I just started reading your blog last week so I missed your first EOS lotion review or I would have at least looked for the little bottle. Obviously, I need to check your blog while I'm in a store.

I haven't found the perfect lotion yet but it sounds like this stuff might be it. I'll have to look for it soon.

  3. AWESOME! I <3 EOS ever since I first laid eyes on their cute little lip balms. I love the scent of cucumbers too. You should try the Yes to Cucumbers line... but I NEED to try this lotion for sure after reading your review :P

  4. Devi: Awww, I'm sorry you missed this while on your last Target excursion! If you get it, I'd love to know what you think of it! :)

JenJen: Oh wow, really? I know that sometimes stores will put stuff on clearance if they were previously displayed in a counter display, but are not yet on the regular shelves. Maybe that's what happened here? Hopefully it will eventually be in the core collection at Meijer?

Charisse: If you love cucumber, I really think you're going to LOVE this one. :)
