This week's question is sort of selfish because I personally would like to answer it. But I know that if it's a burning question for ME, then there must be a few of you out there who would like to answer it as well! So here it goes:
What recently discontinued beauty product are you upset to see vanish from drugstore shelves?
This is a no-brainer for me. I fell in LOVE with Maybelline Dream Mousse Concealer this year (thanks to your suggestions). I don't use it under my eyes, but for the rest of me face, I find it the PERFECT concealer to even out redness, old acne scars, etc. I ADORE THIS CONCEALER, and I was scared when I saw it on clearance during the CVS beauty clearance sale (never a good sign). Well sure enough, I went to CVS the other day and there is no longer a place for it in the core collection wall display. Waaaah! I am so upset by this that I can't even begin the search for another concealer. Good thing I have two more pots to use up before I have to start the hunt all over again. So let's hear it: are you angry about the discontinuation of a beloved drugstore makeup item? Now's your chance to vent!
I usually discover products right as they're being discontinued. Lol. My bad luck. I don't understand why they'd discontinue the Dream Mousse Concealer?? People RAVE about that product. Sadness.

I just want to weep over the fact that the L'Oreal True Match foundations are on clearance. They were much easier on my wallet than Bobbi Brown is.

ReplyDeleteI caught the clearance sale at Victoria's Secret. I fell totally in love with the Decadent Desire. I spent over $100 getting as many splashes, body washes and lotions as I could. This was 6 years ago. I'm on my last set and I hoard it a LOT!
Same with Beauticontrol's Beauti Bistro body spray. I bought up 2 different reps' surplus.
And very recently, Sally's 'Beyond the Zone' line has discontinued 'Bored Straight.' It is a mousse used for hair straightening. If they repackaged it, I don't know what it is.
Maybelline Pure Foundation! The Porcelain Ivory was juuuuuuuust light enough for my pale face and all other Maybelline foundations in Porcelain Ivory have been dark and orange. :(
ReplyDeleteThe La Senzas here used to sell Victoria's Secret Beauty Rush items, but now they've replaced them with their own line that I don't like as much. Unfortunately there are no Victoria's Secrets here either :(
ReplyDeleteMaybelline Moisture Extreme lipsticks. At first only a few shades were discontinued but now every shade's on clearance or gone from the store shelves already. I prefer the Moisture Extreme line over the Color Sensational lipsticks for sure. Nude Blush, in particular, was one of my favorite shades from the collection.
ReplyDeleteI loved the L'Oreal Volume Shocking Mascara. I bought one just as it was being discontinued and now I'm left trying to find a new mascara with a comb that I like.

ReplyDeleteSOO glad this is the question!! Two of my HG items were discontinued, which is why maybelline and I are in a fight. I love the Mineral Power FInishing Veil which has this gorgeous radiant finish. I have been buying powders like crazy since I found out! Also my favorite lipstick of all time Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Pink Please. This warm pink went with everything! I have 2 backups, but I haven't found a replacement. I found a covergirl that would be the same shade if it were slightly lighter, but noo. I bet if I find a dupe it will be like $22.

ReplyDeleteOh, and L'Oreal's Nutri Gloss 3 Minute Conditioning treatment in the pink tube. (It's different then the regular conditioner.) Cone free, it detangled my long fine hair, and left it so shiny!!
Covergirl fantastic lash mascara! This was my first ever mascara and I completely fell in love. I found this on buymebeauty.com, which stocks a lot of discontinued products. They have the max factor 2000 cal mascara and maybelline moisture extreme lippies!

Cover Girl Pure Shin Lip Shine lipstick. I found the perfect shade of pink for me (Lavender Shine). It was sheer but very buildable and because of that, so versatile. Of course as soon as I find it they discontinue it.

These aren't super recent, but Maybelline Mineral Power lipsticks and Revlon Beyond Natural tinted lip balm.

ReplyDeleteI keep hearing rumors that the Studio Tools Duo Fibre Brush from Target is being discontinued and I'm FREAKING OUT. I have yet to find it or any other items from the Studio Tools line at my Target, and it's supposed to be an excellent MAC dupe and amazing quality for a cheap brush. If anyone sees it, grab it!
